sam , 7 at the time and his younger brother seth at 4 were surrendered by their father through the system after giving up on his responsibility of caring for them 4 years after their motherâs death. they were put through the system that did not treat them well and jumping from foster home to another. the two refused to be separated as they only had each other and usually caused trouble to stay together. sam being the age that he already was had more knowledge of being surrendered by his father , and often felt the immense pressure and burden of knowing that their father âgave them up.â this has loomed over samâs whole life , knowing that he was the eldest , and fully taking the responsibility of a both guardian and brother to seth. this became his full time job and priority , was to ensure that seth didnât feel the burden of being dumped by their father as they grew up through their youth and always made sure he felt loved, and cared for as a parent and brother would. sam knew nothing else but to ensure his little brother was never alone.
over the course of their youth , they struggled to be adopted or stay in a foster family which meant the constant return to the system for the brothers until eventually sam turns 21 . due to his age , he is let go by the system to officially fend for himself . with very minimal education and resources to go from . with seth turning 18 , both of them turning and being at their golden age where they should be celebrating, instead they were faced with the possibility of separation . due to this , with no proper experience of jobs and the minimal education they both had , sam pursued to jump plenty of jobs, in the hopes of getting seth out himself to become his legal guardian . he skipped pursuing further education and went straight to working odd jobs , but with his intention also came with fear and pressure that it was taking too long to make ends meet for himself and the goal to get his brother out .
leading with his emotions and heart first , than thinking of the consequences , easy money became the route choice even if he knew , but easy money meant quick and instead of patience he chose to accept jobs that were not so legal which lead his name to become an easy target for precincts and has eventually had major setbacks to landing him a legal job in the future. but if doing this meant he could visit seth EVERY DAY , he chose to always go for the quick money , that eventually faced seth with questionable concerns .
some jobs involved the biggest contributor to his quick money were : drug dealing , body guard to major crime lords , corruption involvement with cops , illegal underground fighting was a regular commitment he ended up doing . along with that he worked local butcheryâs , various hospitality jobs , janitor but often would get fired due to his impatience , due to this he stuck out underground fights a lot . he means well, and most of what he does was for his brother, to reunite with him, to prove that he as the older brother can take care of him, but his execution of wanting quick money and life overpassed his moral compass over time especially when desperate circumstances came to be.
living situations often were with 'friends' heâs met, or somewhat trusted to just sleep in , from apartments to motels, depending on the circumstances and flow of his job, he tends to jump from one place to another without telling seth of his real wellbeing . ïżŒ after a year and a half give or take of overworking and burning himself out whilst visiting Seth every day turned into every week until eventually once every month . due to his own struggles to sustain himself , his relationships along the way and his stability , this eventually what starts the tension between the brothers. trying to find a better legal job around 22, seth being 19 only a year after , his last visit eventually became the very thing he feared all the time he promised to get his brother out , a note left behind that he no longer needed him .
a huge part of sam breaking as this was his entire life and the only thing he knew to do , was taking care of his brother . the smallest percentage of hoping he was in a good family but anger, frustration and his hope deteriorates after this knowing that he now faces a life ahead without his brother when all he knew and did was take care of him . his mid-twenties eventually became the start of his journey to self discovery , when all his youth and early 20s was just focused on just seth , now having the juxtaposition of finding himself is something he struggles with but forces himself to find a more stable job . over the course of his whole 20s , he still tried to look for seth , from different systems to potential places they always knew and snuck to , until eventually around 30 he lost all hope . ( this is where connections are open for further development with 5 and I. to fit our lore timeline :)
he still continued to sometimes participate in underground fighting in secret , most cops ( affiliated with my lee siblings ocs on the multi. ) knowing his status and some cops often placed bets on him , from 25-30 , now at present time he works as a security guard , freelance and was the only legal job that could fit his , background and past offences , heâs worked for plenty of organisations that required securities , lawfirms , various businesses and important names .
Eventually this becomes his way of bumping into Seth in the future . [ THE REUNION . ]
