tw: brief mentions of snakes
When Hyuna built up a case on someone, she made sure it was airtight. All of the information had to be accurate and meaningful. Some men wouldn’t be intimidated if you brought up that they were cheating on their wives. However, showing proof that they had twins hidden somewhere was a completely different ballpark. What really mattered to her was finding out what made people tick and the weaknesses they didn’t want the rest of the world to see. Those were the pressure points she could poke to make the real money come out.
Her usual targets were rich people who weren’t completely tied up with the gangs. They might have interacted with someone within one once or twice, but their business deals and other matters weren’t tied up with them. It was a precautionary measure so as to prevent a mini gang war or something along those lines. She didn’t want to be the catalyst for getting the rest of Corvus tied up in retaliation attempts because of something she did. Her mischief was her doing only unless she truly needed help for some reason.
But, this opportunity was too good to pass up. At first glance, this boy seemed to be a harmless college student. It wasn’t unusual to see them wandering around the city, there was a university after all. But it was who this boy was. He was a college student harboring a very dark secret. If the MPD knew what she did, they would have a field day. Here she was, sitting on a treasure trove of information concerning an entire family of Hydrus members. From what she gathered, they seemed to all be higher-ups, but she figured he’d be the weakest as the youngest. Going for the parents seemed a little dicey, so this was the next best option.
Lined up on her coffee table was all of the information she had on him. She had the basics like his name and age, plus the deep dirt like the last job he was sent on. She didn’t know how she managed to be this blessed, but currently in front of her was a timeline detailing all of his past actions in the last year. It was just a matter of what she’d bring up first and choose to omit. With all the intel she had if she was lucky she might be able to put him on a reoccurring payment plan.
She left her spot from the couch to go pull her bin full of burners from underneath the bed. Every time she contacted a person, it was from a different phone. There was no way in hell she was going to let anyone get the chance to track her. One person finding her could potentially lead to more, and who knew what the repercussions would be from that? It was something she hoped the future never had in store for her. She made her way back to the couch before settling on the latest information she had about him. Give him a false sense of security that she only knew that much when there was a lot more behind it. Hyuna set the phone up before sending out the first text message, making sure to add the numbers before his that would make her number appear to be blocked.
