Negan blinked, silent for a long moment. Smile, small, was the only hint that he had even HEARD her; dark brown hues stared intently her way, until FINALLY he spoke.

Not that he meant to say that in a wholly negative light. He actually LIKED Sam and her defiance towards him. She refused to show fear, and she actually led a few Privateers on to the CORRECT path ( not disobeying him, and for that they're still alive ) . She reminded him of Beth in many ways. A smaller, quieter, Beth. THE FUTURE.
The only issue was Sam talking to Olivia, and he could only ASSUME that Charley had been spinning the yarn about himself and Beth.
