The forest was a comforting place, especially for Drizella. The traumatic childhood she experienced left scars that had no intention of healing any time soon. With the confusing disappearance and reappearance of her mother, to the tragic loss of her step-mother, her sister, and her father, Drizella felt alone. Her mother remained in the picture, but she was a changed woman. She forced her daughter to turn her back on Ella, Drizella’s step-sister. Her mother also had resentment towards Drizella, feeling her own child had turned on her. Overall, Drizella was a mess.Â
On this day, Lady Tremaine had gone into town, needing some items. She left behind Drizella, not really caring what she did. This was the perfect opportunity for Drizella to spend some time to herself. Usually she was at her mother’s beck and call all day, but now she could relax. There was a spot by a small pond she liked to go to. Sometimes there were ducks there, and watching them swim relaxed her.Â
As Drizella sat there, she heard something and stood up. It was like there was an uptake in the wind, but it wasn’t a windy day. She glanced around, trying to see if she could spot anything out of the ordinary. That is when she saw the color red passing by some trees. Her head tilted a bit, wondering what was happening. Using her quietest walk, she headed in the direction of the red figure. Soon, she was close enough to see it was a person in a red cloak, hood up and everything. Desperate for some interaction that was not her mother, she decided to speak up, “Hey! I’ve never seen you around here before...new to this side of the forest?”Â
