it was true,working in the descendants franchise was everything and more you could’ve imagined. being the first role you’ve ever booked,you were beyond anxious to meet the cast you’d work so closely with over the next many months. to your relief,they welcomed you as if you’d been in all their lives for years.

as life goes,everyone has their closer relationships with cast members and for you that was brendon. oh brendon. he was the first to talk to your fidgety self. creating a growing bond with him soon advanced after you realised the characters you play have a close friendship with one another.

you learned about eachother more,better than anybody else could and began going out one on one without the rest of the cast alongside you both. and on a late tuesday night long after filming was over, he shyly asked to be your boyfriend. the squeal you let out had to be at cat level frequency.

nevertheless,both of you decided to keep it between the two of you just incase of any mishap. despite the initial plan of secrecy,an accidental slip up of brendon calling you “darling” on the set of perfect princess soon wiped any going back. thankfully no crew members heard,only the main cast you’d grew so closely too. still,in a last hope they promised to keep it a secret. now your relationship lay in the hands of kylie,malia,liamani,alexandro,kiara,zavien,ryan and dayton. perfect. it was nicer,honestly, being able to love eachother infront of your closest friends however another slip up,or multiple, was bound to happen. especially with the help of invasive and nosy fans on the prowl.

now the movie had been released for public view and you couldn’t have been prouder. per contra,this only meant everybody’s schedule was crammed, from interviews to red carpets;you and your beloved boyfriend barely caught a minute to yourselves.

brendon was at the gym,somewhere he was often whenever he got the chance. not that you minded,you liked a minute alone to wind down. whipping your phone out of your back pocket,you flop down on the sofa and curled your legs under yourself as you open tiktok. the first thing you see is yourself and brendon on set with the wide text ‘reasons why i believe reader and brendon are dating. part 1!!!!’.

you weren’t surprised but you were caught of guard. you knew how fans were even if someone barely interacted with another it always sparked controversy.

with no better thing to do,and pure curiosity because cmon who wouldn’t be curious,you let the first video of the series play on.

the first video began with a clip of brendon filming the ‘group’ get ready for set and as he pointed at the camera,a silver ring catches the light on his pointer finger. the clip then switches to a picture of you in a recent instagram post alongside kiara and dayton with the very same ring on your finger. the wide yellow text then pops up ‘her wearing his ring?!’ nevertheless,you look down and see his ring on your middle finger. this could very well be a coincidence,except it wasn’t. you complimented the ring once on a whispered night in the sheets;the next thing you knew,the ring had been slipped onto your middle finger. clicking the comments,eager to see their opinion ↓

you read the comments with a small smile on your face,now you were invested. after clicking on the playlist,the next video begun so you settled into the sofa and let it play

the second video was a little more obvious than the last. it was a harmless bts vlog from kiara showing the cast all in costume on set. she begins the video with a grin and malia by her side,talking about whatever however the creator of the playlist had circled brendon and you talking in the background. as animated as you are,you signal to him you were cold by rubbing your arms. your characters costume,as fitting and beautiful as it was,was certainly one of the showy ones resulting in the chill to affect you more. without a moment of hesitation,and without knowledge he was on camera,your beautiful boyfriend took off his jacket and draped it over your shoulders. yes the gentleman he was however fans also noticed he was much the gentleman to you specifically. once again,the yellow text appeared while the clip played in slo-mo behind it. ‘him giving her his jacket like helloo!!!!’

brendon had this habit a lot of giving you his stuff subconsciously. cold? jacket. fidgety? his ring. and you love it don’t get me wrong but lorde you just wish he had more awareness of cameras because as friendly as he is,he hasn’t done it to any other castmates or people in general meaning the fans noticed you were special. expecting the same as last time,your thumb presses the comments once more ↓

the third video rolls on and you adjust on the sofa,untucking your legs and stretching them out. brendon should be home in fifteen minutes,gives you enough time to finish the series before making him aware of the situation.

this time the video is a clip of an interview you did recently where the entire gang of kylie,malia,liamani,alexandro,kiara,zavien,ryan,dayton,you and brendon partook in a ‘personal’ challenge. it was a pair activity in which the interviewer paired everyone up with their ‘closest’ companion or rival in descendants. kylie and liamani ,malia and kiara,alexandro and zavien,ryan and dayton, and ever so conveniently you and brendon. everyone was given a stack of personalised questions for each other. everyone succeeded well enough while only getting a few difficult questions wrong about the other. however neither brendon nor you got a single question wrong about each other,even the nitty gritty ones. leading the score board to be

‘two hours,you think i look this good in minutes?’

wondering what the actual point to this video was,you press to speed it up until you pass a few to the last question to which they asked

‘i’m almost never in my trailer actually…though im usually napping in other peoples trailers like a stray cat who actually has a warm,loving home’

you laugh the end of the answer,not thinking twice about what brendon would’ve answered and now you realise they must’ve put 2 on 2 together they asked him the same question to which he replied

‘we’re usually napping! the naps in my trailer go so hard’

and on he went about his trailer and it’s comfortableness unknowing that the fans,as parasocial as they are aren’t exactly stupid. before you think any further the big yellow text appears once more ‘they nap together?? getting a glimpse of one of the trailers shows there obvi not enough room for them to nap separately….’ my god!! they think you two are cuddling it up at work! well,you were but that’s beside the point!

and finally,the fifth and final video rolls and honestly there was no going back from it. another instagram post made 4 hours ago by your dear friend kiara. bless her,she made a cute little behind the scenes photo dump of your shared movie however you wish she would’ve background checked the photos. literally. there was no need for an arrow this time because it was right in-front of everybody’s eyes. in the back of her selfie with malia just so happens to be a familiar mop of purple hair and you cosied up on his lap. that’s right. as if it was second nature,brendon loved catching you by a belt loop and trailing his strong arm around your torso to pull you onto his lap. the thought of making up an excuse doesn’t even dare cross your mind;you’re wearing maxs signature hat brendon had plonked on your head and in return he’s wearing a lipstick print on his cheek conveniently the exact same colour as the one on your lips. both of you are pouting down at his phone as he most likely takes a selfie. darling kiara had just gave you both a head start of launching your relationship. you don’t even need to check the comments to know what’s coming. nevertheless you click the little button anyways ↓

“why the face,sugar?” he hums,lifting you up,sitting in your spot and plops you down on his lap.

he pats your lower back as you look at him with a frown,his dark eyes and eyebrows furrow with worry as he glances at your phone

“readonaremyparents found us out” you pout,showing him the compilation of videos

he laughs. “r-“ he couldn’t get his words out because clearly he found this the funniest situation in the world. you slap his chest gently and he quickly straightens his face.

brendon swallows before repeating “readon? as in reader and brendon?” your nod confirms his master investigation.

he cocks his head slightly before placing a small kiss to your nose “good job neither of us are leaving then,hm?” another kiss to your cheek and you couldn’t suppress a giggle

“mhm” you hum in agreement,knowing you two were forever and forever yet you still try and remain serious about the situation

“oh that’s the game we’re playing?” he smiles that smile. you could destroy planets for that smile but you knew so many others would as well. knowing your train of thought,he decides to prove you’re the only one that matters to him

slowly plastering you in kisses as he shifts on the sofa to lay your back against the plush cushion. his kisses trailed down and you knew it’d be a long night.

as long as you had him it didn’t matter who knew. as long as you had your brendon.
