We are pleased to announce our recent partnership with The AIDS Network. According to its mission statement, The AIDS Network strives to recognize and respond to the stigma and challenges posed by HIV/AIDS on individuals and communities through education and support. This is obviously a cause that we can all see value in, whether we know an individual who has been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, we ourselves have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, or we are looking to gain a better understanding of HIV/AIDS and how it may be prevented.
The AIDS Network offers counseling and social events for individuals living with HIV, and has Education Resources available through their website for organizations and community members. While they receive some funding from The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's AIDS Bureau and the Public Health of Canada's AIDS Community Action Program, they also rely on community support for the upkeep of their high-quality programs and resources. At Strike a Match, we believe in the mission statement of The AIDS Network and are eager to spread the word. We invite you to visit The AIDS Network website at www.theaidsnetwork.ca to learn more about their involvement in your community. You can show your support in person by attending our upcoming charity event at The Emabassy Night Club in Hamilton, Ontario on Saturday April 13, 2013. This event will feature giveaways, music, and great prizes! The best part is that all donations will support The AIDS Network! Please set aside some time to come out and spread awareness of this great organization. Together we can make a difference! Hope to see you there :)
