ur tags are the best in the business i just thought u should know. i learn so much <3333
thank you!!! i always try to tag posts with something even if it's just a single emote offering a bit of commentary (if anyone wondered, me going #:33 on a post isn't me categorising it, i'm just saying :33)
sometimes there's something tangentially related to the post in there or just a story about my day, it's just whatever was going on in my head when i pressed the reblog button
“Don’t flatter yourself. I don’t ‘hate’ you. You are a mild annoyance at best.”
“GET THE HELL OUT!”

It was the first time he'd gone on a job with Nero, and as far as he was concerned it was the last. Some snarky comments were made when he volunteered himself, but he cited boredom as his reason and ignored further inquiries. The job was simple enough, mostly silent, at times filled with awkward small talk, but it was good to spend some time with Nero, before his departure. "You did well, Nero." He nods with a small smile, his gaze lingering on the young man before he opens the door to the shop.
His thoughts on the day are mixed, at best. Maybe leaning negative. The job itself was pretty straightforward, nothing he couldn’t have handled on his own, but he’d be lying if he said he hadn’t been curious. Fighting against someone is worlds apart from from fighting by their side, after all. And Vergil is... strong. Fast. Skilled in areas Nero knows he’s lacking.
It’s not the fight itself that leaves him with that strange, scrunched-up feeling in his gut. It’s the lack of ease. The tension constantly bunching in his shoulders, and the fact he can’t think of anything to say. Why can he never think of anything to say? Even the familiar, heady rush of adrenaline doesn’t seem to make things easier.
The journey back to the shop is silent. He considers asking if Vergil wants to grab lunch, but... thinks better of it. Drawing the tension out over a burger probably isn’t going to make this any less awkward. But then... Vergil speaks, anyway. They’re already on the steps and he figures it’s too late for him to try and salvage this.
‘You did well, Nero.’
... he stops. And he doesn’t mean to do so as obviously as he does. It takes a second, then he clears his throat and shrugs, gaze wandering to the grubby shop window. “Uh... thanks,” he says, as casually as the shock will allow. He doesn’t know how to describe the sudden warm sensation in his chest, so he just tries to ignore it. “You did pretty good, too.”

I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve watched that Nero/Kyrie phone call. That one small, 30 second scene was SO IMPORTANT, and so telling of Nero’s character and of their relationship, and I will be ETERNALLY SALTY that Kyrie didn’t get ANY face time in 5.
Sleeps facedown on Nero's couch, that delightful little sigil on his back exposed to the air because there are days, more and more often as of late, where fabric irritates the damn thing.
He stops dead, everything freezing momentarily into solid, useless inaction. Even the air in his lungs seems to congeal for a second and it’s only the sudden spike of panic in his gut that kicks him very abruptly back into gear.
He grabs Ardyn by the shoulder and throws him onto the floor, not caring what furniture might get hit in the crossfire, Red Queen already drawn and aimed before the man even hits the carpet.
“What the hell are you doing in my house?! Where’s Kyrie?!” If his voice cracks a little, he doesn’t seem to notice. “I swear to fuck if you’ve done anything to her…”
