The draugr
(Old Norse: draugr, plural draugar) is an undead creature from Norse mythology, also called aptrganga or aptrgangr, literally "again-walker". (Modern: draug)
Draugar possess superhuman strength, can increase their size at will, and carry the unmistakable stench of decay. They are extremely heavy, they posses the ability to increase in size and weight. They are undead figures from Norse and Icelandic mythology which appear to retain some semblance of intelligence. They exist to guard their treasure, wreak havoc on living beings, or torment those who wronged them in life.
In folklore, draugar slay their victims through various methods including crushing them with their enlarged forms, devouring their flesh, devouring them whole in their enlarged forms, indirectly killing them by driving them mad, and by drinking their blood. The draugr's victims were not limited to trespassers in its home. The roaming undead devastated livestock by running the animals to death either by riding them or pursuing them in some hideous, half-flayed form.
An unnerving piece of conceptual art by imagineer Claude Coats who was known for making more serious concepts. Many of the designs here later inspired the Pop-up Ghosts seen in the graveyard. Various things seen in the picture is a plague doctor, a phantom crocodile, a skeleton with a loose eyeball, and much more eldritch horrors.

Gabriel woke to the smell of blood and sharp pain in his side. He tried to roll over, but it was as if pins were stuck into his flesh. He recoiled and found that it surrounded him– a cage of barbed wire. His stomach churned and he chose to look anywhere else but down. How high were they? He didn’t want to know.
He noticed someone else within the wire cage, and was tempted to reach out to them if it wasn’t for the wire clinging to his tattered suit. As his eyes adjusted to the dim light, he recognized the man. “Kid, you alright?” he asked, tugging against the barbed wire. “Talk t’ me, now– shit!” Blood welled at a gash along his arm but he ignored the pain, his mind focused on reaching Randy’s side.
