“shit-- goddamn son of a bitch!” frank’s swearing again. probably at the stove. it’s not a great stove. all he wanted to do was make breakfast before he headed out the door, but the goddamn bacon is burning. “don’t come in here,” he all but yells as he hears the bedroom door open. “nothing’s on fire, i swear! stupid goddamn stove.”

“listen here, you two. you’re not going anywhere until you eat something.” somehow, frank fontaine in an apron brandishing a suds-soaked skillet still cuts an intimidating figure. not that it is likely to intimidate the twins, though he’s definitely making an effort. “i made pancakes, eggs– you don’t have to eat all of it, but goddamn it, make an effort here. i even put chocolate in the pancakes. it’s practically cake.”
