Arent you a hypocrite? In all your works you wont take Aladdin amd Jasmine a part but you defend ripping Rapunzel from Flynn. If youre such a defender of cross ships and different pairings then stop being saying jasmine belongs with aladdin. You only defend it when you want to excuse your ship.
My good bitch it is not that serious lol But! If you wanna play this game, I will oblige, just this once! It will not happen again, rest assured.
So! People are allowed to have preferences! I absolutely do ship Al and Jas with other people, but I prefer them with one another.
Here's the definition in case you need help understanding what that means!
Now, let's cut to the bone and address the crux of this issue:
They're not real, my guy. These are fake people. They don't have feelings, they don't have preferences, and nobody is being ~ripped away~ from someone else. I am certainly not ~disrespecting canon~ or whatever it is you think I'm doing, because that's not something you can do. Canon is just that: Canon. And canon is not holy, it's simply the story we were given, in the form it was given. Canon cannot be disrespected or ~ruined~ because it exists as it is. Fanworks are... Fanworks! It's just for fun! Something I'm not sure you know how to have, if you waste your time trying to pick arbitrary fights online with strangers, so here's the definition for that too, in case it's a new concept to you.
(Or who knows, maybe this is fun for you. That's sad. You should take up knitting or something tactile.) Fanwork cannot and does not affect canon in any capacity. They are two separate things! No amount of fanwork, be it fics or art or edits or whatever, will EVER affect canon, because the canon already exists as it is. Fanwork is largely transformative, because canon has INSPIRED these people! It makes them want to explore the what ifs and what abouts and "Oh wouldn't THIS be fun?" (Something I hope you understand now, with the definition given to you. I'm sure you'll get there yet, if you still don't get it.) I LOVE rarepairs and crossover ships! I really enjoy exploring relationships that get glossed over by canon or are otherwise unexplored but have potential! I love to see how I could make them work in a way that I feel could be in character! It's fun, it's exciting! To me. Obviously I don't expect everyone to feel the same way, and not everyone does, and that's totally okay! It also doesn't mean I have to do it for every character or ship, especially all at once. Because, again, (vocab word!): I have preferences! FINALLY: No. Even if I DID ship ONLY Jas and Al with one another, that wouldn't make me a hypocrite. It would just mean that's my preference, as is my right to have. What WOULD make me a hypocrite is if I did what you do: Attack people for enjoying things differently than I do. There are plenty of ships I don't like! Hate even! And there are plenty I like more than others. But I will never go out of my way to shit talk a ship I don't like to an enjoyer's face. That's just rude. Also. it's "apart". Not "a part". It's one word. Alrighty, homework time my little chickadee! 1: What does the word preference mean? 2: What does the word fun mean? 3: How can YOU have fun and enjoy YOUR preferences without being mean to other people? 4: Sit and examine your feelings. Why does someone liking things differently from you make you feel sad, angry, or upset? What can you do to work through those feelings without disrupting other people? Good luck! <3
