How did the characters feel about carrying newborn baby IK? Especially Lucifer.
it's overwhelmed tears all the way down (half joking)
i think you've got one camp of characters who are so so excited (diavolo, mammon, asmo, belphie but he won't admit it, solomon), another of characters who are so so scared (levi, raphael, thirteen, satan), and then another of characters who are at peace and have possibly achieved nirvana (beel, barbatos, simeon, mephistopheles). and then there is lucifer, who is having some kind of transcendental dad experience that changes him irreversibly
some highlights
belphie pretends that it's no big deal but is there in 0.1 seconds when asked to hold her, and refuses to pass her to anyone else for at least an hour
thirteen basically turns to stone when she is given the baby and only loosens up after about five tries, but after that she's lugging her around like a careless father
as soon as they give her to barbatos everyone gets hit by this distinct feeling that they're never getting her back. barbatos smiles threateningly at anyone who looks like they want to swap with him and at this point will only give in to lucifer or zhao
solomon has the biggest grin on his face the entire time and is also number one peekaboo player
levi also tears up as soon she cries and has had to be sent to his room to calm down on one occasion
lucifer always goes quiet in a way that's a little terrifying (this kind of serenity on him is usually only a front for extreme anger) but the look on his face is kind of beautiful. he's practically glowing

In the post with the throuple,you talked about how Raph stil chooses to be on the Celestial realms side but I don't think the council would really appreciate their hit man starting to date not only a demon but the grimm reaper as well.
I feel like this alone would probably be one of the reasons Raph would be uncertain at first when he realises he's catching feelings, despite him being the one to basically make the first move (?)

oh yes that'd probably be a point of conflict for him. i think for him, his time in the devildom is a bit of escapism - he can sort of forget the celestial realm status quo, quietly tuck away discussion/thought of the war, etc. raphael in general is just going "i'm not thinking about it" in terms of the complicated stuff - 'let me just have this simple thing', essentially, which is why he's the only one being normal about the relationship
at first he also doesn't realise how deep it goes. when he's making his first moves, it's less "i want to initiate a relationship" and more just an abstract "i want to be close" in general - a lot of spur-of-the-moment wants that he indulges because they feel quite inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, and he is not going to examine any of that, thanks very much
so in terms of conflict i think something would have to happen to bring him back to earth. maybe a disapproving word from a fellow seraph, or unexpectedly getting too nostalgic around the brothers, or an occasion of luke impulsively rattling off celestial council rhetoric without thinking
i don't think he necessarily holds back because of it though.. we've already got thirteen trying insist to herself she doesn't need anyone, and mephistopheles still semi-convinced that this is mere dalliance and his ultimate devotion is to the royal family - plus, since one of the themes i gave raphael in the earliest post "being stuck", i think it works better for him to be the one who pulls harder as a result of his conflict?
so i would say his inner-conflict-related-to-the-relationship, rather than being a catalyst for him to change, is more of a test of his change. when the uncertainty creeps in, he counters by even more fiercely asserting that he wants it - which might manifest as him becoming oddly bold, maybe a little uncharacteristically reckless and defiant
in terms of where that takes him though, i'm a little unsure. maybe the trio would have a bit of a wobble because none of them want to really talk about where this is going, even though they should, so you have a situation where raphael is trying to confront things but pushes too hard and mephistopheles - who is having his own struggles in the midst of all this - snaps and storms away because he can't handle the pressure of the choice, probably says something he doesn't mean
(you've got the angst point here for raphael, where it feels like he's the only one who wants this so much, so it hurts extra for him)
i don't want this to be a "third act break-up", so to speak, though. in fact! i would love for this to instead establish that the strength of the base dynamic/relationship is such that they can adjust to these instabilities. it's less a big blow-out fight and more a big moment where everything is put on the table, it's all a bit much for everyone, but it does ultimately get them to figure out what to do next
i.e. this is what gets thirteen to finally realise/accept that she wants this, gives up the whole "i'm best on my own and i do not need anyone else", and then she and raphael combine their powers to.... figure out how to talk this through with mephistopheles without setting off his fight-or-flight!!
i think that's all i have on that front for now. to mitigate the more plot heaviness of all that, a few more lighthearted hcs:
thirteen is the tallest. mephistopheles just looks taller a lot of the time because he wears massive heeled boots
raphael likes having his hair played with. more specifically thirteen's longer nails feel nice on his scalp, while mephistopheles has a very soothing stroke (don't tell raphael, but this is also how he pets horses (dragons in jtta thanks to the decisions i made about devildom flora and fauna))
thirteen generally does not like her hair played with or touched in general, but will permit the others to help style it on special occasions. very very rarely she might let them brush it, if she's very tired
mephistopheles doesn't really have any particular feelings about having his hair played with. normally he leans negative ("you DARE touch me, a noble, so frivolously?!"), but for these two he doesn't really care; he just prefers other forms of touch
in general mephistopheles is kind of stiff when it comes to giving/receiving affection, and he hates the awkward feeling so he tries to compensate with gift-giving. raphael appreciates that he's trying his best; thirteen often loses patience and takes charge herself
her favourite thing to do is kick him in the back of the knees (gently) and then catch him like a princess. when he buckles. mephistopheles acts like he HATES it (and he is very embarrassed) but honestly he doesn't mind as long as she doesn't do it in front of other people
raphael makes them all matching keychain ribbons. there is some blustering from the other two but ultimately they all immediately add them to their keys
Mephistopheles and Raphael both have negative reactions to Spider Ik in different directions but I just know Thirteen would have so much fun with Spider Ik
mephistopheles feels negatively because he thoroughly disapproves of the whole concept of masked vigilante children, and raphael feels negatively because spiderkid scares him
but YESSS thirteen would be like ik's Gadget Guy who is always inventing little gizmos to help with her hero-ing. she ends up making so many modifications to the initial hero costume levi designed, both aesthetic-wise and practicality-wise, and levi would be offended if the new suit wasn't so sick
Hi, I was reading some Solphisto stuff and stumbled over the ship of Aunt Lisa and Thirteen again.
For some reason the ship just seems hilarious to me. Like, Aunt Lisa absolutely loathed Lucifer when she first met him (though I believe she didn't even know he was a demon) but some random reaper that gave IK some candy is fine. XD
Or would they have more of an 'enemies' to lovers twist? Aunt Lisa not liking Thirteen before both of them obsess over something magical related.
(I'm trying to remember what Aunt Lisa really liked but it's evading me. I remember her cat's name and her occupation but can't remember if she was into anything related to magic? Actually, a date between both would be talking about death-)
oh my god i haven't thought about them in so long. i still fully believe they'd slay
aunt lisa isn't magic, no! she's a regular ol' mortician :) she's also likes to bake and is big on keeping plants, all of which she names, and i think there's a 50/50 chance of thirteen either seeing her as a kindred spirit (with regards to her and her traps and gadgets) OR just thinking she's a dork
lisa's hostility with lucifer is like 50% his involvement in ik getting yoinked to the devildom, 15% being irritated by what she perceives as posh people, 20% her distaste for the Dominant Man (which gradually diminishes as she realises that lucifer is not actually very good at that), and 15% the things she's heard from belphie and satan - so she's not against thirteen from the get-go
i reckon they'd start out being perfectly amiable, but then they have this massive blowout debate surrounding death - where thirteen believes lisa doesn't take it seriously enough, lisa thinks thirteen is entirely too cold with her lack of human understanding, and both think the other has NO respect for death, which they also both consider a huge insult to themselves
so i think it'd end up being more of a slow acquaintances-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers progression. potentially lisa loses a family member and thirteen is the one who collected their soul so then they both have to grapple with that situation, and somehow they come out of it holding hands

i'd be glad to oblige because the more i think about it the funnier it gets
basically thirteen sets up cartoony tom-and-jerry/wile-e-coyote style traps for ik, but they're all perfectly safe and they're both having fun, and then once ik's successfully 'captured' thirteen just takes her to get ice cream or something
though thirteen has to time them carefully and also make it clear how cartoony they are, because on more than one occasion she's almost been killed by a demon brother reacting to what they thought was a genuine attempt at kidnap
