Deserts and sunshine. Endless corridors brimming with exotic goods and bustling with activity. Rumour had it that if something was lost in the sand, it ended up in the Wind Market.
I admit that the place was impressive. I began to believe that anything lost in the world could be found there.
Although I wasn't interested in treasures or relics, I just wanted to buy some nice trinkets to take back as souvenirs for my colleagues.
Beautiful things were easy to find. I was confident that I had finished my little mission when, among some dusty shelves full of scrolls, I saw it: a complete edition of the legendary Aviary of Sui-Kazan with original illustrations, a hardcover embroidered in colourful leather and handcrafted inlays. A magnanimous work of ornithology that for which you would see me cry if I hadn't been wearing my sunglasses. The price was insultingly cheap, but I can't expect everyone to be a connoisseur of the world of birds!!
I brushed away the thin layer of dust covering it and picked it up. However, when I reached out to bring it closer to my chest, I felt resistance and discovered that another hand was holding it at the opposite end. Another bird lover?!! I couldn't help but raise my eyebrows.
"Oh, looks like we've made a discovery," Aoba said, flashing a friendly smile.
