Here’s an old aro meme from 2011, which was before the rise of the “Ace Discourse” around 2015 (which may have started out as backlash in response to The Trevor Project deciding to include asexual people around that time). This meme format uses an aardvark to represent aromantic people. At the time, axolotls were often used in similar memes to represent asexuals, so the aromantic aardvark was chosen as the aromantic equivalent of the asexual axolotl. apologies for my absence. i'll be posting some new art later tonight, and i've also been sending commission updates--if you haven't received one, please shoot me a message.
unfortunately, i continue to struggle with my chronic health issues, and between that and the heatwaves, staying on top of everything isn't easy for me. the most pressing matter for me right now is that i'm currently nowhere near able to pay my rent this month, and it is due soon. i'm sorry for asking this, but: if you enjoy my art and would like to help me out, it would mean so much to me if you tossed me something over at kofi or to my paypal. the total amount i need is $600 (usd), which is a lot, but every little bit helps, and i'll be immensely grateful.
ideally, instead of making that request i would be reopening commissions, but i'm still not quite done with the ones i've got, and i'm just not able to take on more work right now :( once my rent is taken care of, that'll be a huge weight off my shoulders, and i'll have more time and energy to draw.

the situation with harry potter is kind of unprecedented in some ways imo because it is maybe the largest media franchise in history to be created & owned by a single person who still has direct creative control over it. who is also a billionaire with significant cultural/political influence. like the usual "no ethical consumption under capitalism" type excuses shatter on impact when the bigoted author in question is logging onto twitter every day saying explicitly that when you buy the tim hortons ravenclaw donut she is using your donut money to fund the genocide of trans people. like with big franchises usually there's at least a little more diffusion of responsibility than this
