I’ve previously used Latin to come up with the names of my creatures, but my Tamil-inspired character has a creature that is the first of its kind. I’d like her to come up with a name for it combining two Tamil words and I’d just like an opinion from someone who understands the language.

I’m starting a new job in a few weeks but up until then I am dealing with petty and disrespectful coworkers and it’s drained all of my energy and spirit. I’m just feeling pretty overwhelmed by negativity and my creative spark is more like a dying ember.

How would you describe their personality/aesthetic?

She’s a very proud, very confident person. She doesn’t need the journey of self-discovery that the other MCs do—she’s the leader that they’re desperately missing. One of my favorite things about her is her bluntness. It’s never used for cruelty, but to coax the best versions of others out. It’s why she and Adrin work so well together. He’s a sad, wet blanket of a man, and she’s the spark that ignites him.

Her aesthetic: Sunlight peeking through the gaps in the trees on a crisp autumn morning. The smell of a campfire mixed with a hint of leather and pine needles.

What's your favourite thing about them?

She doesn’t let anything stand in her way, ever. If she wants something, she gets it, and if it’s not possible, she finds something better. I wish I was more like her sometimes.

Fun facts about them/their creation?

Her familiar isn’t like the others, where it’s an extension of their personality. Hers is meant to challenge her, first and foremost because it happens to be something she’s terrified of. Not only that, it doesn’t give her wisdom, it inspires her to find it within herself. Her name is Sakari and she’s tied for my favorite creature with Irk right now. I’ll be introducing her officially somewhat soon!
