tbh i know i make them look like that, but i dont wanna people to think kivasha is just a chill domestic couple (specially on my post canon events universe) because there is a big power imbalance and some fucked up feelings involved
i never intended godslayer to just fall for hunter bc he loves her, but because he doubles down on that possessive-obsessive trait of his that is very present in the game - if he cant find the answers he seeks in the one true path, if he cant go back to build the one true path, hunter might know something. and he will commit to find it out wherever it takes him. he got his ass beaten, his plans crumbled into dust, but he has to keep on digging.
does hunter really have a answer or a saying on the matter? obviously not but godslayer is betting on her, he has nothing to lose.
so hunter has a demi (corrupted) god on her tracks that she doesnt really knows what to do about it - does she flee? does she try to kill it again? ....does she stay? she's terrified of him deep inside cause he also has beaten her to (almost) death and she's not in the condition to fight him
and the first post conflict encounters are definitely violent, but godslayer soon realizes he wont get anything out of hunter if she's dead. so a wary game starts.
hunter cant kill him. godslayer wont kill her unless he gets an answer (what is he after? good question). hunter lies. everyone lives until godslayer gets unsatisfied. however for some reason hunter is very effective at keeping him engaged. is he willing to believe her? is she convincing enough? she doesnt know and she's terrified to ask.
in a way hunter satiates a twisted psychological need of godslayer, born out of obsessive thoughts and wishes, and so he gets possessive of her, like a drug addiction
then time passes and this turns into a weird codependency relationship where godslayer needs hunter to quench his desires and in return he puts her in a pedestal, a goddess that listens to his prayers and blesses him...... hunter can keep on living as long as she fulfills her role but she's definitely not there out of free will. she can try to weaken, stop or even kill him but there's always the chance it backfires and she worries about what he will do to her but specially to others.
so both navigate a silent agreement. in this scenario, hunter also keeps on being the sacrificial lamb, in name of a fallen god. this power imbalance never goes away.
maybe this could be called love,maybe it could develop into love. it's hard to tell, they cant tell. anyway this is what trying to kill each other does to a relationship

Ok. So. Basic premise. Post Loop, Hatch basically ends up constantly observing the Eye, which basically blinds them in one of their eyes but keeps the universe from keeling over.
Hatch flies back to Timber Hearth, which between the eldritch knowledge and being blinded in one eye goes pretty badly and they crash. They end up pretty injured but more than that are basically incoherent for weeks afterwards.
The ship log stays between loops, so the others get to see everything Hatch has recorded. Also, because I can do what I want, it also has personal notes and recordings of Hatch throughout the loops. I imagine it starts with Hatch on their first loop, being so excited to explore the stars then the ten seconds of abject horror because the sun just exploded, and then has spotty coverage of some of the other loops (Hatch chose to record some loops but often forgets to.) Hatch has been in the loops for a looooonnng time.
Basically about the people taking care of Hatch, while trying to piece together what the hell happened to them.
one of the things i like in the kivasha dynamic is how godslayer is forced to live a young adult romance bc of hunter cause like
godslayer is considerably older than hunter that's certain, to me i'd say he's at least 200 years old and probably more, hunter is around her mid twenties (at her 30's max)
and while godslayer never went through the first lover phase since he's a big asshole and he never really gave a fuck about it cause his business was with the one true path, hunter didnt get to explore this early phase of life in a normal and healthy way due to the curse that was eating the world away (she was probably training or trying to survive) and can you imagine her luck to have godslayer as a first lover woa
i can just imagine hunter getting very sentimental about things. while godslayer operates methodically planned with his objectives in mind hunter will throw a tantrum about idk how he treats people too harsh and cold or how he broke an agreement they made (he didnt, he was maliciously complying with it) and he doesnt understands cause his methods have been working for him all this time and NOW hunter wants to change everything out of place and he gets angry and she gets angry and they argue and fight and (are you getting the divorce dynamic?)
and it doesnt help bc hunter process situations way more chaotically and to godslayer she acts no better than a teenager so idk i have been thinking about this clashing of sides, one that thinks more than feels and other that values way more her emotions as a way to guide her aaaaaaaoooooooohhhhhhhhhh

the hatchling would learn to be more cautious (feldspar too)
gabbro would learn they can’t just pretend nothing’s happening all the time
riebeck would learn to be more reckless

esker would learn to fend for themself on the attlerock
gossan and slate would put aside their differences for everyone’s safety
they’d all learn that they can’t just take it slow and easy, they need to stay on their feet and watch for predators, they’d need to watch for any dark bramble seeds, they’d need to build more ships to migrate to giant’s deep, the only safe-ish planet, they’d need to watch each other’s backs, there would be no room for loss, because if one supporting link broke, the whole chain goes with them.

I find it so sad when people present the history of hermitcraft as "generikb left so xisuma took over as admin and leader". like noooooo you're doing such a disservice to the chaotic group project that is hermitcraft. xisuma took on responsibility for the physical server hosting, yes, but Joe Hills broke the decision stalemate (via coup) and Hypno took the website and Cleo arrived to join the council (of people who actually go to meetings and do admin) and welsknight stood up to rap battle anyone necessary and tango came on as tech support and keralis came on as hardware sugardaddy (where's beef's new mouse?) and there's more and more and more. there's no leader of hermitcraft (Joe stood down immediately after the coup) and everyone has a veto. a lone leader would have fallen by now, it's the work of every hermit that makes the server strong
