exaggeration is second nature, a flare for the dramatics, not as far as some witches might go, but close enough to compete. this feeling is mostly biological, being so close to her, the rapid beat of witch’s heart, the warmth to her skin. adrenaline addled from being near death in a far too literal sense.

she is trying to distract herself.

for a moment, before she is able to gather her guard and rebuild her walls; agatha wonders how transparent this attempt is in the face of @t1meaway. scolded like a child, vulnerability reveals itself in the form of a judgemental laugh, a scowl scrawled across the plains of her features, smile baring teeth.

“ you don’t want it to be about me, get a talking stick next time someone wants to 'share their feelings'. ” agatha lurks closer, pressing herself into rio's space, there is no fear in her stance, in the grace of her movements. emphasis is expressed with two curled fingers, air quotes to exaggerate her point, the sarcasm is a second thought.

“ what ? you care about something other than your body count all of a sudden ? ”

it was hard , differentiating where death ended & rio vidal began. both one single being , yet so separate in many ways. there was a time where i thought both could exist at the same time , where my job didn't matter , where i'd finally found a partner to endure eternity with that didn't shy away from my touch or tremble in fear at my presence. agatha harkness was my one constant , the one person who'd wrapped her fingers around my blackened heart & squeezed. but now , walking this winding road with her with the shred of hope that something good might come out of it for us , i was left with the sinking realization that no matter what , we were doomed to hurt each other.

nothing good can come from a cosmic entity falling in love with a mortal , i knew that. yet here i was , my chest tight , my breathing shallow & thin , staring balefully at the woman across from me with an unreadable expression. this was my job , this was who i was to my very core. her of all people would know that. i clicked my tongue softly against the backs of my teeth , standing my ground & raising my chin as agatha advanced , my dark eyes searching hers with a tight frown.               ❛            i've .. always cared about more than my body count when it comes to you , agatha. if you don't believe that , that's your problem , not mine.            ❜
