Ok, but imagine Avery, after being thrown off the cliff, respawning ASAP to try in vain to do something to save Derek, just to immediately realize it’s too late, that even if he started running to him that very second he would’ve never been able to get to Derek’s side in time.

Imagine him, basically staring helplessly into space, holding onto those last messages in the chat as the last reminder of Derek’s existence, rereading them over and over again after Derek’s death, to try and figure out ANYTHING about him.

Imagine Avery always seeing Derek’s user online in his world never able to reach it, almost as a tomb he’ll never be able to visit. Imagine him seeing this last reminder one day suddenly go offline without any reason, clueless to the fact that DMS took Derek’s body away, throwing away any chance to have an actual tomb for him.
