i dont like ace ppl who find themselves to be superior to allo ppl. maybe its mostly jokes but i still get the sense that some(obviously not all, i love ace ppl in general yall are great and valid) ace communities are quite condescending and are low-key shaming allosexuals

its not just statements like that btw its a matter of tone and context, etc. it just generally carries the message of "allos r gross and sexual im better" which is way oversimplified but you get my point.

i just dont like it, it feels condescending and unnecessary. it just feels awfully similar to purity culture yk. a lot of ppl get shamed for their sexual attraction as it is bc it's considered "the wrong kind" so i dont see why ace ppl who also get shamed by society feel the need to do this.

its probably a very small minority in the ace community, all the ace ppl i know are great. i just cant help but notice the kinda loud minority and i think we should do smth about it

the queer community is already demonized via sexualization, the ace jokes calling ppl w/ sexual attraction gross just.. have we seen that anywhere else?? maybe?? possibly??

and ik the ace joke is abt allosexuality as a whole but to say that any attraction is inherently gross is just harmful. same vibes as the “attraction to men is gross” jokes, that is homophobia in another tin

question : why can’t someone be lesbianromantic and pansexual?

“lesbians can’t be attracted to men.” okay, we did clarify they are romantically lesbian.

“they still can’t be attracted to men, the identities contradict eachother.” how can labels on two different spectrums contradict eachother?

“the identities don’t contradict.” by your logic, yes they do. asexuality means attracted to NO gender and lesbian means attracted to nonmen.

“but asexuals aren’t attracted to men.” they’re not attracted to anyone. part of the definition of lesbian is attraction to nonmen.

“no genders” and “some genders” contradict too, so we have the split attraction model.

just say that you see asexuality as a ‘secondary’ sexuality. asexuality’s not a ‘lack’ of sexuality.

romantic and sexual attraction can be separate, and that applies to anyone. if someone wants to label their sexuality and orientation differently, its not your business to police them.

the problem has never been trans people that dont conform to cisnormative standards, the problem is how normalised transphobia is in our society.
