12 March 2026
Tonight was my second time going for a walk again after about three months. The December holidays made me lose the habit because I had already reached my target weight. I had lost around seven kilograms, but I've gained about two kilos back since then.
I hope that one day I'll finally be in the mood to start strength training. I don't really want to get big. I just want to build a little muscle.
I was able to go for a walk tonight because I finally finished my project. It hasn't been deployed yet, but completing it still gave me a sense of accomplishment. I've been itching to play Mobile Legends all day, but I'm glad I managed to resist the temptation.
My roommate just got home from the office. I'll be working onsite tomorrow as well.
My mom messaged me to say that tomorrow is their scheduled medical checkup, but my father insisted that nothing is wrong with him and that he'll just see the doctor in May instead. He said the medicines haven't really improved his health anyway.
Between my parents, he's always been the one who thinks he knows better than the doctors. I told him he should make the most of his health card while it's still free because starting next year, it'll no longer be covered. I'll most likely end up paying for it since the premium is deducted from my salary.
I don't know if it's selfish of me to think this way, but sometimes I wish my siblings would help shoulder some of the cost too.
27 February 2026
I've been arriving late whenever I work onsite because my body has gotten used to working from home. Today I clocked in at around 9:30. Tom and Ven were the first ones to greet me. It's been a while since I last saw them.
Most of the others, including my supervisor, were in the boardroom attending a secure coding training. I didn't buy anything for breakfast, so I just ate a banana and made myself a cup of coffee. The hot coffee was perfect against the freezing air conditioning.
I overheard Ven talking about a system project that had been cancelled, so I asked him what happened. It turns out the Billing department has gone back to using the legacy system. Apparently, the new system still wasn't stable enough despite already costing the company millions. Ven said that most of the issues had already been addressed, so he thought it was a waste not to continue using it.
The news surprised me. If they're really going back to the legacy system, it probably means we'll be dealing with more support requests again, and Billing has always been my least favorite department to support.
At lunch, I invited our OJT to grab something to eat because the people sitting near him didn't seem to invite him. I felt a bit responsible for including him since we'd already talked a few times before. On the way to lunch, he started asking me questions again, and the conversation continued while we were eating. It was more than just small talk. As an introvert, I eventually started feeling a little uncomfortable, probably because I just wasn't in the mood to socialize. I was also careful not to accidentally share anything confidential about the company since he's still only an OJT.
After lunch, I went back to my station and followed up with the database support team about the account I use for API testing. Once they granted me access, my API finally worked. It felt good to see it running after waiting for it.
Later that afternoon, Tom gave me a few slices of pizza because his boss had treated their team. I thought it was really thoughtful of him to remember me.
I worked overtime tonight, and by the time I left, only Maine and I were still in the office. Before leaving, she gave me a coin purse as a souvenir from her recent trip. I actually didn't know where she had gone, but I didn't ask. I simply thanked her.
I'm writing this now from McDonald's while drinking an iced coffee that I accidentally ordered without sugar. It's incredibly bitter.
My sister, who just got back from the province, has been messaging me. She wants to see me tomorrow. I wasn't expecting her to come back yet because I thought she was still overseeing the construction of the new toilet beside our rooms at home. Earlier this morning, I was also chatting with my brother about the tile designs I want to use for it.
13 January 2026
I thought I'd be able to get to work by 7:00 AM, but I felt too lazy to get up. I was still lacking sleep because my new roommate and I stayed up playing Mobile Legends last night. We lost three games, although they weren't consecutive.
When I arrived at the office, two of my teammates got into the same elevator carrying Starbucks takeout. If I had arrived a little earlier, I probably would have bought myself a coffee too. Instead, I just made one in the pantry.
There was a gift sitting on my desk inside a sealed paper bag. Apparently, it was from my supervisor. There was also a box of cleaning tools from my team leader, Martha, which I immediately used to clean my laptop and monitor. Del also gave me a marble coaster after arriving from Romblon. I felt a little guilty because I didn't have any gifts for my team.
A few minutes later, Martha asked me what gift we should give Tom for his birthday. I told her I thought they had already given him one last week because he had messaged me on Friday thanking me for the gift. I still have no idea what gift he was referring to. I just reacted to his message with a heart even though I didn't know what he meant.
Our team also had a small celebration for one of the supervisors. We had fried chicken, pork barbecue, and surprised her with a birthday cake. Before bringing it out, we turned off the lights, and her whole team walked in singing "Happy Birthday" in a slow, monotonous, almost prayer-like tone. The funniest part was that the candle they used was a huge esperma candle.
In the afternoon, I helped Ron and Del with some issues in the system. I was able to help Ron get through his task, while Del eventually solved his problem himself with the help of AI. It had something to do with async and await.
Before leaving, I decided to leave my laptop at the office since I'll be working onsite again tomorrow.
For dinner, I went to Cash & Carry and ordered pho ga. I'm actually typing this while I'm still here. After this, I plan to get a haircut.
11 January 2026
I logged in for work today, but I wasn't really able to accomplish anything because the internet connection was terrible. I was supposed to call my teammate to help him with testing the tracking system, but the connection was only around 120 kbps.
My father came into my room after turning off the main breaker. It was actually a relief because it gave me enough time to properly shut down my computer first. He then showed me how to install the ceiling lamp I bought a few days ago. Unfortunately, the screw holes on the ceiling didn't line up with the mounting holes on the lamp. My arms were getting tired from holding it up, so we asked my nephew to help. We also had a bit of trouble finding the right screws. In the end, we used a wall plug and secured only one side of the lamp. It stayed in place, but it didn't look as good as I had hoped because the shadows of the wires inside the fixture were visible through the cover.
My brother-in-law drove me to the airport on his tricycle. Before we left, I paid for the gas. Along the way, I tried to take a few pictures of Mayon Volcano, but the clouds were covering the crater. I was hoping to see the glowing lava one last time before leaving.
On the flight, I ended up with an aisle seat. I just sat back, listened to the songs I had preloaded onto my MP3 player, and enjoyed the trip.
When I arrived at the Manila airport, I messaged one of my nephews and told him I'd give him ā±300 if he threw away all the trash around the house. Then I messaged my other nephews and nieces and told them that I had hidden clues throughout the house. Each of them received a different clue that would eventually lead them to a reward. I had hidden small pieces of paper in different places, inside a stuffed toy, under a remote control, on top of the refrigerator, inside the bathroom, and in a few other spots.
Later, my mom sent a message in our group chat saying that the kids were running all over the house, excitedly searching for the clues. I'm really glad they enjoyed the treasure hunt.
I got back to the apartment at around 9:00 PM. I found out that my new roommate had started a job at a mall, and my other roommate from the next room had also started working at a new company just last week.

Black Scoop Cafe, SM Legazpi
Itās Saturday. I should have stayed in bed a little longer, but an NDRRMC alert woke me up at 6:30 a.m. It was a warning about Mayon Volcanoās current alert level. It has been spewing lava for a week now. It does not really bother me since our place is not within the permanent danger zone, and the wind almost never blows in our direction. The only time I experienced ashfall was when I was eight years old. Despite the danger, I would be lying if I said I do not admire Mayonās amber glow at night whenever I look out my window.
I was the one who bought food for lunch because my mom was tending to my baby nephew, my brotherās youngest. My sister-in-law was at work, and my brother was busy as well. I felt sorry that my mom had to take care of the baby instead of being able to rest at home.
I cooked eggs since they were the fastest to prepare. After lunch, I planned to leave the house to catch a movie. My dad was working in the living room, fixing electric fans and Bluetooth speakers, so the place was a bit of a mess. I never really learned much about his electronics skills. Just a few nights ago, I almost put myself at risk of being electrocuted while trying to change the light fixture in my bedroom. I wanted to install a new light I ordered from Lazada, but I gave up because one of the screws would not come off. Only then did I tell my father about it, and he warned me that I should always turn off the main switch before replacing a receptacle. I had thought that turning off the wall switch would be enough.
I left the house at around 1 p.m. When we reached the Old Albay district, there were only two passengers left in the jeepney. It stopped and waited for another jeepney to transfer us. I already knew I would not make it to the 1:45 p.m. timeslot, so I decided to watch at a different mall instead.
I managed to queue and buy tickets and food in about 25 minutes and arrived just in time. I messaged a college friend to ask if she had already watched Bar Boys, but she did not reply. I ended up watching alone. It was my seventh time watching a movie in the cinema and my first time watching by myself. The last time I watched in a cinema was in 2022, a Marvel film, when my friends still used to invite me.
As for the movie, it motivated me to keep pushing. I may not have the passion for law, but it made me feel like I need more good movies like this. Fun fact: my college classmates used to call me āattorneyā just because I always carried a file case.
After my coffee, I went to the supermarket. While I was busy looking for beverages, someone poked me and called my name. I was surprised to see Ken, my batchmate from college. As he pushed his cart past me, he said he did not know I was still in the province. He must have thought I did not even take the time to visit him at his coffee shop. Ken and I took the same course, but he was from a different block. We never really talked during our college days, although my close friends were close to him. I did not have many friends from the other block. I only got to know Ken later, when we worked for the same company after we graduated. He resigned first to pursue a masterās degree at the same university and now lives a good life with his family. I did not interact with his wife and daughter since the place was busy, and I just told him that I would be going back to Manila tomorrow. He fist-bumped me as I gestured that I had to leave, and we told each other to take care. I could not think of anything to say to extend the conversation, since he was already at the counter and I had to go.
Tomorrow, I will be going back to Manila after three weeks in my home province. I am going to miss being at home again. Our employer now requires us to work in the office at least twice a week. Bummer.
5 January 2026
At around 7:00 in the morning, my little nephew started knocking on my door, but I didn't open it because I wasn't ready to get up yet. I knew he wanted to check on the Bumblebee LEGO set that I'd been working on since yesterday. My father bought it for him, but it was far too difficult for a five-year-old to assemble. The recommended age is 14+, and I could definitely see why. The pieces were tiny, and even I found the instructions difficult to follow. It took so much patience just to sort through the pieces, analyze the diagrams, and figure out where everything went. I even made a few mistakes that took a long time to fix.
Today was also the first workday of the year, and I honestly didn't feel like working.
I finally got up around 8:30, but breakfast wasn't ready yet because the vendor hadn't arrived. I just made myself a cup of coffee and ate a few biscuits. Teams kept filling up with messages, and I knew I had to catch up with work, but I really hated the thought of going back.
One thing I appreciate is that I can work from home. During our meeting, they asked about my schedule, and I told them I wouldn't be reporting to the office until next week since I'm still here in the province. I also still have the same work issue that I've been trying to solve for weeks now. It's honestly getting embarrassing that I still haven't resolved it. During the meeting, the discussion eventually moved on without me because there wasn't much I could contribute anymore.
After that, I went back to assembling the LEGO set. A little while later, my mom knocked on my door and brought me breakfast on a tray: two hotdogs, two sunny-side-up eggs, four slices of bread, water, and ketchup. After eating, I never really got back to work. I just continued building Bumblebee and even set up a time-lapse video while I was assembling it.
My nephew eventually came into my room to check on the progress. Sometimes he'd get impatient and distracted while watching me build it. At one point, I accidentally detached a section that I had already finished, and I couldn't remember how to put it back together. I had to go back through the manual and spend another twenty to thirty minutes rebuilding that section. It was frustrating, but also oddly satisfying whenever another part finally came together.
That was pretty much how my day went. I didn't really accomplish anything productive except finishing the Bumblebee LEGO set. I took a few pictures of it afterward.
The ceiling light I ordered also arrived today. I asked my father how to install it, and I think I know how to do it now. I plan to put it up tomorrow.
I'm a little worried about work tomorrow because I barely touched my tasks today. I also wasn't able to assist one of our users who has been having problems with his account. They'll be having a face-to-face meeting tomorrow, and since I won't be there, I don't know how everything will turn out.
I wanted to take a bath tonight, but there wasn't any water left in the bathroom, so I guess I'll just have to do it tomorrow. For now, brushing my teeth will have to do. I also have a slight headache, probably because I only slept at around 3:00 this morning.
I rebooked my flight today. It was originally on Friday, but I moved it to Sunday because my plans changed. I don't know how I'll feel when it's finally time to leave again. I don't feel like working anymore. I don't feel like going back to the office. I don't feel like leaving home. I just want to stay here a little longer and enjoy the rest of my holiday.
The Christmas break went by so quickly. I hardly went anywhere. The only times I really went out were to buy ingredients for our Christmas and New Year's celebrations.
Right now, my niece is asking for more screen time on her iPad even though it's already 11:00 PM. Her bedtime is supposed to be 10:00, but she keeps asking for another thirty minutes. I don't understand why her mom lets her stay up this late. I really think it affects her studies.
Before ending the day, I finished organizing the files from my old cabinet. While going through them, I found some of my old certificates. Seeing them again brought back the same frustration I've felt for years. Many of them had been damaged by rain and were badly stained. It still breaks my heart every time I see them. They weren't supposed to end up like that. I still don't understand why no one took better care of them.
1 January 2026
Yesterday, on New Year's Eve, I spent the day with Dane, Ash, and Min. I first took them to the Legazpi City Market and then to the grocery at Ayala Malls. We were looking for lumpia wrappers, but they were already sold out. I was also trying to find the ingredients for our spaghetti. We had agreed to make it Italian-style because we were getting tired of the sweet Filipino version. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the herbs I needed, and the olive oil was more expensive than I expected.
At around 7:30 PM, we decided to take a jeepney to Daraga because most of the restaurants in Legazpi had already closed for the evening. We stopped by McDonald's first, but dine-in service had already ended, so we walked over to Chowking instead. I felt bad for Dane because he was carrying the heavy box of groceries the whole time. By the time we got to Chowking, it was also about to close, and so was the Jollibee beside it. We ended up going to the 7-Eleven across the street, where we bought some drinks. I also bought them some siomai.
It was getting late, and no Grab drivers were accepting our booking, so we hailed a tricycle instead. We agreed on a fare of ā±130, but I gave the driver ā±150.
When we got home, I was surprised to see my older sister there. I wasn't expecting her because I thought she would be staying in Tabaco for work throughout the holidays.
We started cooking around 9:00 PM, and I set up my camera to record a time-lapse. By midnight, the spaghetti sauce still wasn't finished, so my mother took over the cooking and told us to watch the fireworks from the rooftop.
It was already around 1:00 AM when we finally started setting the table. I brought the standing lamp and the Christmas lights from my room to the dining area to use as a backdrop. I set up my camera on a tripod and used the timer so we could all be in the photo. Gab arrived just in time, and we asked him to invite his siblings and his father to join us for the picture, but only Jake came. The others were either already asleep or simply didn't feel like coming.
I went to bed at around 2:30 AM and woke up at 9:30 the next morning. I had a sandwich and some mango graham for breakfast.
Later that day, my cousins Albie and Mary Ann came to visit. They invited us to their house tomorrow because it will be their barrio fiesta.
I also booked a Grab car to take my brother's children, including the baby, to their mother's workplace so my mom could have a free day. She usually looks after the baby whenever my sister-in-law is at work. She wanted to go to Mina, our agricultural land, but there weren't any motorcycles available, so she invited me to go shopping with her in Legazpi instead. I declined because I was feeling tired. I felt a little guilty afterward for not going with her, so I just gave her some money for whatever she planned to buy.
I spent the rest of the afternoon in my room, and now I feel guilty for not being productive.
Before ending the day, I hid a few bills around my room. When it's finally time for me to go back to Manila, I plan to let my nephews and nieces hunt for them.
December 17, 2025
I worked on site today because our department had its Christmas party in the afternoon.
Today was originally my scheduled flight, but I had to rebook it. During our company Christmas party last week, Dee and I made a deal that if it was announced that we would receive a good bonus this year, I would rebook my flight and attend our departmentās party. Since the announcement was made, I followed through with it.
Even though the rebooking was expensive, at least I was present for the event, and I hope I will not regret the decision.
The party was mostly about performances from different teams. My teamās representative sang a few songs. The technical teamās representative, a man dressed as a lady, sang and performed a skit where he brought out quail eggs and gave them to the audience. Another group sang while two members played the guitar. The QA team danced to TikTok music.
There were also awarding and raffle draws. I did not receive any awards, and I did not win any raffle. Some people were lucky enough to be picked twice. I did not win anything today, and I could not help but think about the expenses I spent. Still, I let it go.
When it was time to go home, Dee offered to drive me along the way. Sir Win owned the car, and with us were Mary, my supervisor, Tom, and Christopher. Sir Win jokingly asked where I wanted to be dropped off and mentioned a place that clearly referred to Tomās address. Dee immediately played along and giggled, keeping the joke alive. I was not sure if the others in the car knew about the anecdote involving me and Tom, but at that point, I just let them enjoy the moment.
Before getting out of the car, I told them to drop me near a street that happens to share Tomās surname. That alone already triggered reactions inside the car. As I stepped out, Tom clearly said goodbye to me and told me to take care. I replied and said goodbye to him as well. The exchange was heard by everyone, and it only hyped them more. They laughed and reacted as I closed the car door and waved at them.
As I walked away, I found myself wondering what their conversation was like after I got out of the car.
Back at the apartment, I brought my roommates a small container of fruit salad, some quail eggs, and three cans of beer that I took from the party.
December 13, 2025
I booked a ride to TLC Park in Taguig to meet my sister, my brother-in-law, my niece, and my nephews.
It was my first time going there because the park is relatively new, and it is a very big park. There were Christmas lights around the area, along with playgrounds, a food market, and other family-friendly amenities.
They were not there yet when I arrived.
I brought my guitar with me. I do not really use it much in my apartment, so I thought it would be better to bring it home so my niece could use it. She has been wanting a guitar as a gift, so I told her she could borrow mine. Since my brother-in-law and my nephews are going back to the province the next day, they could bring the guitar with them.
At the park, we walked around, took pictures, and spent time together until we got tired.
I took a picture of a puppy, and the owner thanked me and asked for my page. I told him I did not have one and that I was just taking photos for personal use.
For dinner, my sister ordered hotdog sandwiches. My niece ordered drinks, and I ordered siomai from another stall to save time because the place was crowded. My sister and the others found a table for all of us. I ordered five sets of siomai, three of them spicy, and asked the seller to add fried garlic to all the orders.
It was getting late. I originally planned to book my own ride, but my niece suggested that I go with them to their apartment first so I could book another ride from there and save money. I agreed.
We went to their apartment, talked for a while, and then I booked a Grab back to my apartment at around midnight. The trip took about twenty minutes because traffic was no longer heavy.

Iām at a coffee shop again. Being here by myself is one of my favorite things to do because it gives me time to think deeply about so many things. It even puts me in the mood to write down my current thoughts and feelings about life.
Before coming here, I wandered around the malls trying to find a place for dinner. I also stopped by a book bazaar that had a buy-one-take-one sale. I was looking for a Darren Shan series called the Vampire War trilogy, but I couldnāt find it. Iāve already collected all ten books of Demonata, and I want to collect the Cirque du Freak series, which is bundled into four trilogies. I might just order it online instead.
As I walked around the mall, I passed by many things that used to interest me, but realizing I still canāt afford them, I just let it go. I just spent a huge amount on painting the living room and my bedroom in the province, and I need to be careful with expenses. On top of that, my uncle is borrowing a significant amount of money for his wife, whom he suspects may be terminally ill. Sometimes, I feel like I carry more financial responsibility than my siblings simply because I have a better-paying job.
At work, I feel burned out with my current task. The remediation using a scanner tool is giving me a headache. There are so many codes to refactor just to fix security vulnerabilities. Sometimes I wish I was only a frontend developer. I feel like I deserve better compensation. Iāve been working for ten years, yet my career hasnāt grown much, and itās frustrating to feel stuck despite the effort Iāve put in.

This morning, I did not get out of bed until eight because I still had not slept enough. Around nine, I managed to book a motorcycle through a ride-hailing app. I left my clothes unfolded and hanging on the bars of my bed. I washed them late last night and did not have the energy to fold them anymore.
When I arrived at the office, someone was already sitting in my seat. I let her keep it since I was the one who came in late. I just wished her good luck dealing with the extreme cold from the air conditioner. My usual spot is directly under the vent, where the cold air blows nonstop.
The office was unusually crowded today because everyone was required to have their computers checked by the tech team. I honestly do not understand why this could not be done remotely.
I was surprised to see JC there. He turned out to be part of the tech team handling the maintenance. Apparently, he is now in a different team and works the day shift. I also learned that he now lives in ParaƱaque with his girlfriend and owns a new motorcycle. Before, when he was still probationary, he used to commute every day from Nagcarlan and stay at the staff house. Despite all the changes, he is still the same cheerful person we knew.
For lunch, my colleagues and I went to Hong Kong Noodles and Dimsum. The food took a long time to arrive because there were mistakes with the orders, so we just passed the time talking about random things.
My boss called me regarding a concern from the treasury department, but the call was cut short because my laptop was about to be checked by tech support. The inspection took about an hour, which meant I barely made any progress on my task. To be honest, I really dislike my current assignment. It involves fixing flagged security vulnerabilities, and I honestly have no idea how to resolve them. Still, I stayed overtime, fiddling with the code and not fully understanding what I was doing.
Later on, Chris messaged me asking if I was still at the office and what my work shift was. Earlier, I had already noticed the sad emoji he posted on his Notes status. I tried to convince him not to go to work and suggested that we talk over dinner instead, since our workplaces are close to each other. He said we would just meet some other time.
Chris and I do not really chat often. Sometimes months or even years pass between conversations. Our last exchange before this was just Christmas greetings last year. Funny enough, we have never actually met in person, even though we are practically work neighbors and have been online friends for more than sixteen years.
I remember that even when we were younger, he was already into tech, just like me. I used to ask him about free browsing tricks back in the GPRS phone days. All we cared about back then was accessing chat WAP sites, downloading MP3s, and getting Java games for free. We met through a chat site with technology forums, and Facebook is what kept us connected all these years. Maybe it really is time for us to finally meet offline.
November 1, 2025 - 14:11
Iām at Starbucks again here in Greenbelt. It took some time before I realized I was the customer named Ivan. Iām back after more than two weeks in the province, and I feel like I need to start getting back in shape, both physically and mentally. I spontaneously bought Philippine Ghost Stories just to feel the vibe of Halloween. I used to borrow horror books from my cousin when I was young and I miss those days.
My room has finally been painted, and Iām looking forward to decorating it, though Iām still unsure how it will turn out. The living room is currently being painted by my uncle, and I hope it turns out well too.
I just received our 13th month pay, but most of it will go toward the cost of paint and labor. It makes me feel like Iām not really earning enough anymore with all the expenses at home. Renovating the house is turning out to be far more expensive than I expected.
During my stay in the province, I still worked from home, setting up in my nephewās room while mine was being painted. My nephew spent most of the day in the dining area, working on his personal programming projects. He started coding even before his class officially began, so heās already ahead of his lessons. Itās really great that heās interested in programming; otherwise, all my advice would have been wasted.
He has Copilot and AI tools now, which makes things easier for him, but I constantly remind him not to rely on them too much because I donāt want him to become a āvibe coderā in the future. I reviewed his code, and I was pretty impressed by how much he already knows. Itās only been a couple of months since I told him to start reading a C++ book.
October 10, 2025 - 19:39
Iām on a bus going home, feeling a little thirsty from running earlier to catch the ride. I almost didnāt make it because the first motorcycle I booked refused to carry my suitcase. I understood the situation, so I just let him cancel. I ended up booking a Grab car instead. The traffic was terrible, even though the terminal was only a few kilometers away. Itās Friday evening, and the rush hour chaos is real. I hate how much time gets wasted because of the countryās messed-up transportation system. I know I should have left earlier, but I still blame the government for not planning the infrastructure properly, especially public transportation. I loathe how corrupt most officials are.
Itās been a while since I last rode a bus. My decision to go home was sudden, so I didnāt have time to book a cheap flight. I only managed to get a flight back to Manila. Itās going to be another tiresome twelve-hour ride, and my back already aches. I brought along my medications for my back, cholesterol, and uric acid. It sucks to have to take so many pills, but Iām still grateful that I know my health status. I just hope my kidneys stay healthy despite all these prescriptions. I havenāt had dinner yet, so Iāll probably survive on these two packs of biscuits for now.
My father messaged me this afternoon asking for money. Heās hesitant to ask my older sisters because, according to him, they donāt give enough. Iāll arrive tomorrow, so itās better if I give it to him in person. Since nobody knows Iām coming, I messaged my older brother to give our father the overdue payment for the credit card I paid yesterday. Iām not sure if he has the money ready. Even before I agreed to help with his loan, I knew he would likely delay paying, and Iād be the one forced to cover it to protect my credit score. On top of that, his wife just gave birth, which gives him another reason to prioritize his family over the payment.
The main reason I decided to go home is because itās one of my nephewsā birthday tomorrow. I want to be there for him, at least for this occasion. I also plan to attend my other nephewās university sportsfest opening, which is at my alma mater. I want to check how heās doing with his programming skills as well. He even sent me his high score in the midterm Physics exam. I never reached that grade back in my day. Studying was so much harder then.
Iāve been feeling less motivated to work these past weeks, so I decided to spice up my computer setup to boost my mood.
I was getting tired of my Windows laptop, so I decided to try Apple. Since I donāt like overspending, I bought a used Mac mini from Marketplace and it turned out to be worth it. Itās as powerful as a MacBook Pro.
For my OTPs I still use a Nokia phone, which also doubles as my music device during evening walks. Its Bluetooth is a bit weak though, so I picked up a cheap iPhone 5s that surprisingly still supports Spotify. Itās amazing how some apps still run on it. Iām not really a fan of the latest flagship iPhones since many people just get them for status rather than specs. Iām happy with my midrange Android, which performs just as well and charges faster.
For work, I fold my Windows laptop and remote into it using the Mac through the Windows App. I still need to do it because the Appleās new silicon processors donāt natively support Visual Studio anymore.

Proof of life

Iām in Starbucks right now. Today is a holiday, and I timed in at work, but I havenāt really accomplished anything. There have been changes in our API, and I need to update the system assigned to me. The thing is, I still donāt know how to do it. Itās hard to trace the flow of the program.
I greeted Phil in our high school group chat and attached some really old photos of him from when he joined Mr. Intrams. Theyāre scanned copies of grainy photos I took using a film camera. Even back in high school, I was really into cameras, although I could only take photos during events because film was rare and expensive. Phones back then only had crappy VGA cameras anyway.
For the past three days, itās just been me and Vee at the apartment since Angie went back to her home province. Vee and I stayed in our own worlds in our rooms. He played League of Legends the whole time and only got up to use the bathroom. I, on the other hand, pretended to work but mostly watched random YouTube videos and Netflix. I just finished an anime called My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered, No One in This Other World Stands a Chance Against Me! Yes, thatās really how long anime titles are now. The protagonists are almost always overpowered.
For dinner, I walked three kilometers to the mall just to complete my daily step count. Iāve been walking consistently for three weeks and have lost two kilograms so far. Iām aiming to lose three more and see if I look better. Watching my diet is harder than keeping up with my walking exercise. It made me realize how careless I used to be with food. I used to eat fast food two to three times a day. In all fairness, Iām not really into alcohol or other vices.
I also uninstalled Mobile Legends because I kept getting MVP losses, and my win rate dropped from 65 to 57 percent. It felt like I was programmed to have a bad team. I donāt know how long Iāll be able to resist installing it again.
Time check: itās 9:15. I have to go now because I still need to walk another three kilometers. I just pray I wonāt encounter anyone dangerous along the way.
