In the year or so since I last wrote any longform replies I've had to cut off one rp partner who I didn't feel safe around anymore, but everyone else I just... drifted away from for no good reason. And now my drafts are still there, mostly written but gathering dust. //

// Character development on an RP blog doesn't have to be consistent, especially (but not only!) when each thread can be seen as taking place in its own universe/timeline. Trying to make it all fit together is a headache that takes the fun out of putting our characters in situations, which, doing so is the whole point of RP. //

// The easiest thing would be for me to once again argue in defense of human/Pokémon ships, but I'll stop beating that dead horse for now. Instead I'll say that, while shipping is a fun and valid way to engage in RPing and even something to work towards, I don't like forcing a ship even if my partner and I both agreed to try it out. Sometimes a meeting between our muses just doesn't go as expected and they don't end up together even if they plausibly might have based on their personalities alone. //

// No one is obligated to pick a thread back up when their RP partner replies after a long hiatus, but it doesn't hurt to acknowledge it as them trying to reach out again. //

// A lot of people are quick to dismiss certain conversations as "infighting" or "us vs them" just because they don't understand why something might be an issue. Basically, "we're all supposed to be on the same side, why should I care if I'm causing harm to you? There are bigger things to worry about!" It can really piss me off sometimes. Some "the audacity to build a birdhouse while murders are going unsolved" type stuff. //

// RPing is a hobby, not a jobby. Even when I was on break/hiatus from college I still didn't feel pressured to go on here, which is a big change from how I'd treated this in previous years. And honestly, that more casual mindset might be why this blog has remained active as long as it has - many others fizzled out after a year or two at most. //

// Writing a muse of the opposite gender is not a weird thing at all. I've written both guys and girls and found that the only thing stopping me from doing both equally well was worrying about what others might think. //

// As if we don't do that plenty already. Not that I'm complaining; Syl and human!Sergio are always fun to talk about! //
