Meet Ätxwe, Tsahik of The Huyuticaya. Warrior first, Tsahik Second.

She is gifted with two Kurus, one symbolizing life, and the other death. In war, she would connect with fallen soldiers taking their last breath, to gather their soul and reconnect them with Eywa. However, this process of exposure to death affected her mind and soul, leaving her solemn and detached from a kinder way of life.

Her hair is short, her clothes are tight. She does not wear beads, or any material that would make noise. The quiet of the dark is her solitude, and she must obey the silence.

When provoked in order to subdue certain enemies, connecting using the Bond would allow her to overwhelm the other with the feeling of true death. She does not do this lightly, and uses it only in extreme circumstances that involve danger to herself or her people.

Her people call her many titles: Tsahik, Alpha Mother akin to the structure of viperwolves, and Mother of Death.

Culture

The Huyuticaya Clan reside within the forest, creatures that live amongst the dark canopy of the night. Viperwolves hold reverence within the clan, holding wisdom the Huyuticaya live by.

Viperwolves influence their warrior/hunter class culture, they often utilize the darkness to their advantage, blending into the shadows. Like the Mangkwan, esteemed warriors and hunters use black paint to cover their bioluminescence, not to hide from Eywa but to hide from prying eyes.

The Huyuticaya uses a secondary simplified speech system mimicking the sounds and hoots of Viperwolves. This is commonly used amongst the warrior class, giving them the ability to spread information without giving away their position. This is also used to distract and intimidate unwanted visitors.

Rites

First death

The Huyuticaya believe that they are soul tied with the Viperwolves, honoring their pack like social structure. However, their connection is not as simple as creating a Bond between Na’vi and Viperwolf. It is common practice for the Huyuticaya entering into the specialized Warrior (Or the Tsahik and Olo’eyktan, and some Hunter) class to kill the viperwolf soul tie, and bury the body amongst the clan.

This practice has brought ire to the perception of the Huyuticaya, labeling them as a death cult. However, this practice is not to dishonor the animal, but to solidify the connection. That way, the warrior’s soul is within Eywa, deeming the na’vi a symbolic “walking dead.” Their bravery and deadly power comes from this belief of being already dead.

They adorn parts of their Viperwolf soul tie, like their leather or fangs as jewelry.

Stained teeth

Reserved for the warrior class, Tsahik and Olo’eyktan, high sitting members of society will stain their teeth black to replicate the black teeth of the carbon based bone structure of the fauna amongst their soul brethren.

Habitat

The Huyuticaya do not have a home tree like the Ometicaya. They live in woven structures amongst the trees, and often within cave systems. Their Utraya Mokri resides in these cave systems in the dark, illuminating a dark cavern. Carvings and paintings adorn the walls that aid in storytelling and provide haunting acoustics when singing.
