Noticing how the other tensed, Aidan couldnāt help but narrow his eyes. Did Caius think he was an idiot? He wasnāt blind; heād noticed the ring a long time ago, and heād been in the otherās place enough to have noticed the pictures by now ā even if he usually found himself distracted a majority of the time he spent there. He just hadnāt brought any of it up, as curious as it had made him at times. He didnāt comment though, waiting for the other to work things out in his own head, and almost taking a sense of amusement from having caught Caius so off guard with his question.
However that didnāt last long, his amusement being swept away the instant the other gave his answer.
The possibility hadnāt even crossed his mind, though, as he thought about it, he almost had to wonder why. All things considered when it came to Caiusā behavior, it made sense. Heād never acted weird when Aidan had wanted to come over, or mentioned anything about his fiance⦠Aidan had simply assumedā¦
Fuck.
āSorryā¦ā He grumbled, eyes shifting away. What the hell was someone supposed to say aside from that? He didnāt have the slightest idea and as he ran a hand though dark locks he couldnāt help but regret asking.
It made sense, all things considered, that Aidan would think that - he couldnāt exactly feel offended, although he was tempted to. He knew he had never talked about that to Aidan - wasnāt planning on it, either. What else was there to say? It was still too painful.Ā He released a sigh, somewhat quiet, and turned around to face the other as he heard that apology. For a moment, he avoided eye contact. Aidan had kept seeing him even though he thought he had been cheating all along... but heĀ somehow didnāt mind it. He didnāt care in the slightest about that.Ā āItās fine.ā There was nothing to apologize for.Ā
