She felt her heart race at the implications of what she was saying. Her skin grew hot and she turned to look at her, surprised at how close she was. Her eyes looked into hers, cold and calculating. She felt a thrill shake through her form.
“Saw me what?”
Emma smirked. “Watching me.” She could tell that maybe, just maybe, she was getting under the detective’s skin. Emma had a good way to read people; it was what had made her so good at playing people initially. Able to get what she wanted for so long-- “I bet I can guess what was going on in that head, too, Mills, hmm?” Emma’s words were mere whispers, her breath ghosting through the grate to rush against the detective’s skin. “So c’mon. Admit it. There shouldn’t be any secrets between us anymore, should there?”
