        The detective, who prided herself upon being so unshaken by most threats, tensed and huffed out a low breath as she fought the urge to turn and face whatever presence might be there.  She wasn’t one to believe in such things, she had more tangible beings to worry over.  But the cold feeling crept in despite her resistance.
