My guide to romanticizing life (and school) :
- bring a book and read whenever you can
- wear accessories and jewelry if you’re allowed
- bring a tote bag when you go out (keep you book in there)
- if you feel like the main character you’re doing it right (remember, most of the feel out of place too)
- playlists that fit your mood/vibe
- write a lot (journal, write on scrap paper, take class notes, etc) just write
- do things that make you feel (go watch the sun set/rise, look at stars, cloud watch, take a shower and blast music, go on a walk, go read in a library, cook/bake, etc) do things that make you happy and feel like something is happening
- wear cute outfits (or just something super comfortable. I promise you that you look so much better than you think you’re just not used to seeing you)
- wear light makeup if you’re allowed (mascara, eyeliner, blush, highlighter, lipgloss, etc) and if you can’t see if you can get something like clear mascara and lip balm. Even putting on chapstick can make you feel pretty
- if you like routines make one that makes you feel alive
- adventure (I love exploring, taking walks, going to the mall, the library, art galleries, museums, things like that). Idk about other galleries but the AGO is free admission for ages 25 and under
- prepare and plan the night before
- make Pinterest boards for what you want to attract into your life like you already have it (you do)
- eat lunch (and study) in the library or at a coffee shop. Alternatively, I like eating outside if the weather permits (or just walk around school hallways)
- study to classical music and light some candles
Romanticizing is all about pretending you have what you want. You can’t spend your whole life wishing you had/were something, you have to make it happen.
