Today is the very first day of the year, and I wanted to take a moment to look back, and more importantly, to look ahead.
Last year, development of Swords & Crystals was mainly focused on the core of the game. A lot of time went into balancing gameplay, fixing bugs, and making sure the main systems were solid. The goal was to make sure the game feels good to play and is stable before pushing things further.
This year will be different.
The main focus now is on players and community.
I want to bring more players into the game, build an active community, and reach a point where there are players online every day. An MMORPG really starts to shine when people are sharing the world together, and that is what I want to work toward this year. This is where the fun part really begins.
I will keep improving the game every single day, just like before. But moving forward, the most important task will be promoting Swords & Crystals and getting it in front of more people. Having a living world with real players matters more than anything else.
I also hope this will be the year the game receives its first donations or in-game purchases. Any money the game earns will go directly back into development. I take no profit at all. Every dollar will be used to improve the game, get help where needed, speed up development, and move closer to Phase 2.
I’m putting all the time I have into this project. My goal is to make Swords & Crystals the best MMORPG it can possibly be.
To keep things open and active, I’ll be posting something every day on social media from now on. Updates, progress, ideas, screenshots, and behind-the-scenes development.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the game so far. This year, we keep building the world together.
