Just Some Porsche Moments

Interviewer: "Time to hand over the second microphone—we'd also like to have Nico Müller here. There's Nico Müller. Nico... basically just came from the DTM tests. And now, you're absolutely soaking wet with sweat, aren't you?"

Nico Müller: "Awesome, awesome, awesome! Finally racing again, really cool. And up here at the Nordschleife, it’s always beautiful anyway. Um, yeah, I'm just happy to be sitting in the car again. The guys are doing a great job, the Audi is running well. WRT is a top team anyway, and with team colleagues like this, I think you can only smile. It’s a lot of fun, and I hope the preparation continues to go according to plan, and then we'll be ready for the 24-hour race."

Interviewer: Richard, first of all, congratulations on the victory in the VLN. And that was the second race that Manthey-Motorsport has now won with the new 911 and car number 911. What is your conclusion?

Richard Lietz: Very positive. First of all, it was the first time this year for us—or for me—and it’s all about preparation for the 24-hour race. I was able to find my rhythm well in the first stint. The second stint was already better. And it’s really difficult with all the... with all the traffic and with the many different cars to find a rhythm, but I have the highest respect for every driver, and I want to thank everyone who made room. Sometimes you just really have to take risks to get the performance out of the car, and thank you to everyone who made room, and I'm happy that nothing happened and that we were able to win the race here.

Interviewer: Thank you very much for that. Do you have any idea what happened with the Land Audi?

Richard Lietz: No, I just got off the launch, and as I was going to the pit wall, I saw we were leading. So, of course, I'm personally sorry for the guys—they didn't deserve it—but in the end, that's racing, and we're happy about the victory.
