Sigh. The Timing of Life Is Important...

...which could easily be the alternative title to this post. 

I meet a girl that’s super cute, super smart, so down-to-Earth, playing a game I love to play with my friends... and she has a fiancee. 

Girl knows she has feelings for me (and I obviously shared them) but decides to keep trying with said fiancee that she is not in the happiest relationship with (and I totally support this in hindsight; sometimes things are worth fighting for... but I wish I had done a better job expressing my feelings for her).

Girl then makes difficult decision to split up with fiancee... but gets lost in work to deal with breakup (something I totally support and relate to).

Girl then texts me to go out on a date!!!!... but only because she is moving out of the state, 2.5 hours away, in a few days and wants to see me before she does... and we have an amazing time playing Pokemon before running into a couple of my friends and having a delicious dinner with a genuinely great conversation (I haven’t been so nervous before a date since my ex-girlfriend).

Girl then admits to me that she had feelings for me when we first met, while she was with her ex-fiancee... but part of me thinks it was more to get that off her chest before she moves on to a new state, new job, and a better, happier life.

I really do wish her nothing but the best... she deserves everything she has earned and fought for and she deserves to be happy. I truly believe this new town, state, job, and apartment will make her happier than she is now so I can’t be disappointed at all.

I’m just sad the timing didn’t work out better for us. I expect us to stay friends but I have this feeling I won’t be seeing her again and that really does sadden me.
