freestyler? What're you doing, freeing Harry Styles? butterflyer? What're you doing, buttering flies? backstroker? What're you doing, stroking people's backs?

swim culture is putting in the lane ropes and getting pulled in with all of your clothes on.

swim culture is only wearing jolyn and not just to practice everywhere

swim culture is that one early summer practice where literally six people show up (and youre always one of them😭)

Swim meet culture is seeing the biggest team get a whole warm up session to themselves (esp when they're the host team) (I've seen it happen-)

swim culture is being annoyed when people about what sports you play because you don't "play" swimming

Swim culture is finishing a set and thinking you’ll die if you ever try to do it again.. and then doing it again 7 more times in the same practice

swim culture is saying things that would be wildly inappropriate out of context such as- “they look different when they aren’t wet!” or “i’ve never seen you with all of your clothes on” or “you need to shoot faster”(breaststroke). speaking of- “nice breast!”, etc etc etc

swim culture is not bothering to apologize when you bump into someone bc you’re all used to it. unless you accidentally grope someone while swimming, especially during backstroke.
