Also, while Iβm here being Person Who Lives Closest To Gillette, here r some Things:
The closest airport to Gillette Stadium is not Boston. Boston is straight up nowhere near Gillette Stadium, and trying to get from one to the other you will have a Bad Time. You should plan to fly into Providence (PVD).
Frontier is a discount airline that is not often advertised, however they have a lot of direct flights to major cities, Providence being one of them. You cannot check bags with them, but their fares literally go as low as $29 each way - and Iβve gotten $29 flights from them before. Thatβs an actual thing. Check their website and try to book directly with them!
If booking a hotel, you want to stay south of Gillette Stadium, in towns like North Attleboro, Plainville, Mansfield, or Wrentham. Hotels in Foxboro will likely be very expensive (especially the closer we get to the shows), and the towns that are north of Foxboro are technically in the Boston metro area, and will be way higher priced than any towns that are to the south, which are considered to be in the Providence metro area and have much cheaper real estate.
this area is NOT a city. These are small New England towns that are pretty spaced out, and there is NO public transportation available. When figuring out your budget, factor in the fact that you will either need to rent a car or be taking ubers wherever you plan on going.Β
you cannot take Ubers or any car service into or out of Gillette Stadium. you have to walk to a shopping center about a half a mile away (there are designated signs) and take it from there. Please keep this in mind if you are disabled or have issues walking long distances for any reason.
Traffic in this area is Very Bad, especially close to showtime - you take a one-lane road (Route 1) for a few miles between getting off the highway and the stadium, and the stadium is surrounded by woods so there are not a ton of different options for roads to get there. This gets VERY clogged VERY quickly. If you leave within an hour of doors opening, expect it to take an hour for you to simply get from the highway exit to the stadium.Β
Given this, you want to plan to get to the stadium a minimum of 2 hours before doors open. It is in a giant plaza with shopping, food, and activities (for all price ranges), so there is plenty to do if you spend the day there, but plan on it being very crowded. Also factor this into the price of your Uber.
if I think of anything else Iβll add but yeah!
