As someone who’s family owns and operates a small business (electric bike shop), I want to remind everyone to support ALL small businesses during these crazy times - not just restaurants. I love people are helping restaurants, but please remember that is only a portion of the type of businesses that are being impacted by COVID-19. My dad is currently worried about having to let go his one employee (other than my mom) and my parents are currently not eligible for the small business loans/grants, so they are just trying to stay above water and see this thing out. If you are able, buy gift cards for the small businesses you frequent to during normal life so you can use it once this passes. If you are unable to financially purchase gift cards right now, write positive reviews or share your favorite local business on social media to help them do some marketing. Let’s help lift up ALL local businesses!
