I’m kinda really proud of all the pure hard-work, sweat & man power I put into this, and it was really hard on my hands, so here’s a bunch of pictures of chunks of ice 😂 We took both of the ice surfaces out at work. Over the last week I spent at least 15 hours just removing the ice build up from around the back of the rinks. Please note that the thickness of the ice here was up to a foot thick at points. There was carpets frozen into the ice, plywood & skate friendly mats. I also found a kitchen knife frozen in one chunk. Day by day, I chipped away at it by hand with an ice chip. Shovelled up all those ice chunks and wheeled them outside to melt come summertime. I’m so happy that’s over with! As anyone who knows me knows, I love my job. I work at a pretty cool place and I’m an arena attendant/facility worker. I have the immense pleasure of getting to drive the zamboni and also the joy of getting to put nets on their pegs before a game (thus allowing the goalies to get a good solid warmup and no need for them or a player to stop the pre game feeling/flow by needing to set the net). I work hard so other people can enjoy the great game of hockey, hopefully at least half as much as I do! I really do love my job. Yesterday I went to my very first, in-person professional acting audition. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait for my next one! Today is an amazing anniversary in the world of @taylorswift! 12 years ago Taylor released her debut album at the age of 16 and the world has never been the same. Yesterday, I learned that I love and enjoy #Slushees more than most people from across the world. I know and admire them so much that I got called a “slushee connoisseur” 😂 I met four chill people who only thought there’s four kinds of slushees at most. I fortunately was able to enlighten them with my extensive passion for the frozen beverage. I never would have guessed that of all the things to converse about with international travellers, I would spend a solid 20 minutes discussing slushees. #Vancouver!! You are STUNNING, even with the haze from the disastrous fires. The Vancouver Aquarium was AWESOME!! So many cool fish and I got to see a sloth! The beaches are amazing, so many wonderful things spread about on them with happy people. I’m enjoying every second I spend here, even when I wiped out first thing this morning, sprained my ankle and scuffed up my knee, I wasn’t going to let that change the awesome day I’m having and will continue to have! I just finished whale watching with Vancouver Whale Watch and saw SO MANY orcas. We had one of the most active sightings the guide has seen. I am amazed by every little thing here and held in a constant state of wonder and bliss. I’m so thrilled I get to spend two more weeks here and explore more. I love you #VanCity.
