OMFG! This is the best.

It's been decided.  I must live somewhere that has a sloth crossing sign.  I mean, it's pretty much the cutest sign I've seen!

This fact leaves me wondering, what other non-mammal animals are slower than sloths?  Can you think of any?

Will someone please paint this in my bedroom?!

Did you know that "Sloth" is one of the 7 deadly sins??

This stems mostly from spiritual laziness, where one who fails to develop spiritually is guilty of sloth.  In the 17th century, "sloth" became defined as the failure to utilize one's talents and gifts.

Does this make anyone else question why we named an animal after one of the 7 deadly sins?  I mean, is there any animal with the name greed or gluttony?

The Catholic virtue opposite "sloth" is diligence.  Ironically, I find sloths to be the most diligently lazy animals out there.

I'm just going to say it outright, where is our Disney/Pixar film about a sloth or multiple sloths for that matter?  I mean, they're pretty much the last important animal out there to not be meticulously drawn to star in their own feature length film.  So it's going to happen, right?  I'm calling it--somewhere around the year 2016 a sloth film will be made. 

What would you want to see in an animated sloth movie?  I picture a Buddhist yogi meditating fool of a sloth.  I mean they are so slow, their movements (or non-movement) are almost like meditation.  Then again, I can see them totally playing it off as a Latina/o beach bum.  Just chillin out in a hammock, going on jungle adventures, but mostly just relaxing.  Or maybe even talking like a surfer.  I personally am all into the yogi sloth, just because I feel like the beach bum thing has been done.  I mean, just because they live in Central & South America doesn't mean that can't be Buddhist, right?  Plus all their stretching and holding poses for long periods of time is waaay too yogi-like.

So I forgot about Ice Age...the movie about extinct animals such as the mammoth.  There is a sloth in that.  BUT that is not set in current times.  Maybe I'm getting too picky about it all.  Sloths still exist and they are the cutest things ever, so I'm ready for a blockbuster!
