elaborating: the idea that women are uniquely empathetic ironically exacerbates abuse of women. some incel's "radicalization" is just realizing the woman they put on a pedestal is in fact a regular human being capable of harm just like them.

even the way people react to women committing violent crime is impacted by this. a woman who harms a child, for example, will be viewed with a unique level of public scrutiny (see: casey anthony), because people have accepted the concept of an abusive man (to the extent women are blamed for being abused) but cannot comprehend that women are also complex human beings capable of the same acts as men. look at how many sex trafficking cases end in women being punished first--both victims and traffickers. in reality, both mothers and fathers traffic their own children, and a woman harming a child is not outside of the norm at all.
