A little background, because I can ^^✌️:
Esther is the guardian of different parallel worlds, with three guardian entities, who travels the worlds, watching the plot, sometimes even taking part in it herself, while trying not to disrupt the main course of events. The plot of the world in which the girl is, she knows initially because of her acquaintance with the work earlier, and because of which she quite often has a hard time morally in communication with the "characters". Trigun turned out to be one of these worlds.
Entering another world, Esther wandered for a long time, trying to figure out where she ended up this time, until she finally came across the main characters. This happened, however, unexpectedly, because she literally fell on them from a height, but in the end, even after such a sudden acquaintance, they all became quite friends and she joined them.
Vash was similar in character and even a bit of a same difficult fate (even though she didn’t tell it), because of which they quickly found a common language, Meryl became a good friend and conversationalist from whom she could “borrow” a camera and start taking photos or just discuss different cases, but with Roberto they were absolutely neutral towards each other. As for Nicholas, they didn’t really become friends, because they initially disliked each other. Because of this, they were always squabbling among themselves, even if over time this began to happen less.
Despite her seriousness, Esther tried to maintain the cheerful mood of the "team" in order to, so to speak, "go forward on a positive note" (although this did not work out very well for obvious reasons). And then one day it led to this unexpected situation for her, when Vash with a joyful face picked up Esther and ran aimlessly, watching her reaction.
