Which is every bit as beautifully appropriate in its symbolism, I think. Wolfwood's character represents all of humanity's charm and its guilt; its desperation to survive as well as its capacity for self-sacrifice. For love. Wolfwood is Vash's "reason enough to fight", isn't he? And Vash is victorious in his fight for the people of No Man's Land — thinking of that strong and selfless priest up until the very end.
