Something I don’t understand all that much is being neurodivergent myself, if someone tells me that they’re neurodivergent then that’s cool and stuff but when I tell them that I am neurodivergent then I don’t understand what makes myself neurodivergent. I like to think of myself as neurotypical despite having an IEP and an actual doctor diagnosis for adhd and autism. Yeah I tell all my friends about the diagnosis but I just tend to overshare a lot of things, I don’t see myself as any different as I am right now. Like if one of my friends suddenly told me “oh yeah I got autism” then I’d be like “ok” and nothing would really change unless asked. I just don’t understand what makes me go under the label of autistic and adhd, I work just as the same as any neurotypical person. In fact I think I have a good attention span but only not in school because I hate school, I like watching 30 minute documentaries on youtube and I am fine with reading books as much as of everyone else (only if my interest is kept). Maybe I’m showing signs of those traits right now but I wouldn’t know because I don’t understand what the signs are. I wish I understood it as much as the doctors did so I can understand how to help myself as an apparently neurodivergent person. Sometimes I feel the doctor misdiagnosed me, that I am neurotypical after all, but I relate to random posts and crap my friends say, so why do I feel like it’s all wrong? I dunno
