I'm Your Sweetest Poison

Damon found a rage boiling within him as Savy relayed exactly what had happened to her.  It was obvious from his facial expressions how much the evidence of abuse against her had riled him. “You want me to have him killed? I know guys who can” he offered, on impulse. 

Savannah was somewhat surprised at how angry he seemed to be. She walked into his place and reached up, placing her cold hands on his cheeks gently. “No Damon. If they somehow figure out you were behind it, I wouldn’t have anyone. Then I would really be alone and have nowhere else to go.” She sighed softly and removed her hands from his face. “I won’t be here for good. I wouldn’t do that to you, but...” She hated having to ask for help. It was unlike her and it made her feel weak and she hated feeling weak. “Can I stay with you for a little while?”

Damon frowned a little when a few minutes passed and Sam didn’t answer his text, a move that was unlike her. Wondering what might be going on, Damon decided to call her and did so, waiting for her to pick up. 

Sam flinched when her phone started ringing, but she was relieved when it was Damon’s ringtone instead of his fathers. She quickly fished her phone out of her purse and answered, trying not to sound like she was still crying. “I-I’m upstairs. Please come to me, Damon. I need you.” Her hands were still shaking and she ended the call, once again trying to take deep breaths to calm herself down.

Damon had spent the day relaxing, having concluded a profitable drug deal earlier in the week that meant he could afford to take some time off to enjoy the spoils of his success. As a result, he was a little high from weed when he heard a knock at his door but Damon got up to answer it. He wore just an open blue shirt and a pair of boxers, not having bothered to dress. When he saw Savy, he smiled and said “Here’s my favourite pal” before his happy expression soured instantly upon seeing the bruise on her cheek. “What happened?” he asked, reaching out a little, expression now one of concern. 

Savannah was always the type to hold her head up high. She had an ego and no one ever saw her broken or down because she didn’t let things that could make her like that effect her. However, at that moment, she was broken. Everything was ripped away from her and she felt little and like she didn’t matter. She couldn’t look Damon in the eyes once he opened the door, ashamed of how she had managed to end up on his doorstep. “He cut me off. Some paparazzi or something got into my party last week and...he showed up at my place and smacked me around and then kicked me out. I have nowhere else to go Damon...”

Damon was a good observer of behaviour, a required trait in his line of work. As a result, when his father returned to the party looking sweatier and more het up than usual, having the air of a wild bull, Damon grew concerned. His concern was not for his father but rather his fiancee and Damon’s lover, who’d gone off with him ten minutes prior with some evident tension. Damon got out his phone and texted Sam. “Things alright?” was all it said, knowing never to give away too much detail in a text when it could be traced. 

Samantha was left in a random room by herself, bruises the size of fingertips on her arms, blood on her bottom lip, and a bruise forming on her cheek. Tears were running down her cheeks as her fiance left her there. She was told to sneak out and go home so his ‘friends’ wouldn’t see her like this. However, she couldn’t bring herself to move at the moment. Her phone went off, but she didn’t bother looking at it, assuming it was her fiance, making sure that she was leaving. She was upstairs in a random room at some strangers home and the party was downstairs, so she remained where she was for the time being, trying to collect herself.

For the first time in a long time, or possibly for the first time ever, Savannah Dotra felt completely defeated. She was officially cut off from her fathers money, which also meant she now had nowhere to live. One dumb party, and now her world was crashing down around her. She didn’t even know how any sort of paparazzi had gotten in, or how they even recognized her, but it happened and now she was paying the price. She was always so careful, but this time she wasn’t careful enough. After a long and rather loud fight with her ‘father’, Savannah made her way to Damon’s home and knocked on the door, bruised cheek and broken ego and all.

Damon took advantage of being in the shower, particularly the warmth of the water compared to the freezing cold temperatures and the rain from when outside. He could hear the door opening and Savy’s voice, responding to her ask. “Yeah pizza sounds good” he called out. 

Damon was still incredibly irked, angry and upset but Samantha’s initial calming actions of taking his hands in hers and kissing them proved to have a calming effect. He allowed her to kiss him, smiling softly as their lips met. Her words surprised him as they’d never been spoken between them before but Damon replied quickly with “I love you too”

He heard a door open and then footsteps, the click of heels on the porch making it clear that Samantha was the one who had come for him, rather than his father with any apology. When she got close to him, Damon turned to face her and shrugged at her question. “I’ll be fine in a few minutes, it’s all stuff he’s said before” he murmured, trying not to appear as affected as he was. 

Sam knew Damon better than to believe he wasn’t affected by what his father said. He acted like he didn’t care, and sometimes he didn’t, but this time she could tell he was. She frowned and walked towards him, reaching out and taking his hands in hers and placing them on her hips while her hands then rested on his shoulders. She leaned up and pressed her lips to his in probably the most tender and gentle kiss they had shared. Once their lips were parted, she looked up into his eyes. “I love you, Damon.”

He smirked when she replied but didn’t open her eyes. “Just announcing my presence so you don’t get scared shitless. Keep sleeping, don’t mind me” Damon told her. He was checking out her naked body too but as of right then had no desire to do anything dirty with her unless Savy was in the mood also. Instead Damon moved away from the door and towards her bathroom, peeling off his soaked clothes as he went and dropping them on the floor. The jacket containing his pay off went carefully draped over the back of a chair however. The wet, naked Damon then went into the bathroom for a warm shower.

Savannah did as he suggested and remained in bed. She only remained there for a little while though before she threw the blankets off of her legs and got up. Grabbing a cigarette from her nightstand, she placed it between her lips and lit the end with her lighter before making her way into the bathroom where he was taking a shower. She noticed the soaked clothes on the ground, but figured it was from the rain outside. After a long drag and exhaling the smoke through her nostrils, Sav looked at him in the shower. “I’m hungry. You feel like take-out tonight? I’m kinda feeling pizza.”

Damon closed and locked the door behind him, wandering further then into the apartment. He called out Savy’s name as he looked around, eventually finding her on her bed, passed out and naked. He smirked at the sight but didn’t move into the room. Instead he remained in the doorway and knocked against the wood to try and wake her. 

Savannah was having a rather enjoyable dream. Snorting coke off some random girls tits while she was getting fucked from behind. Of course, that may have even been a memory just replaying while she was asleep, because it had definitely happened before. A knocking sound stirred her and she groaned slightly. “What Damon?” She didn’t need to open her eyes to know it was him. He was the only person who had a key to her apartment besides her father and he never came to her place.
