I always thought buying presents for my parents or my husband, well, now ex-husband, was difficult, but nothing prepared me for how hard buying for teens is. Especially teen boys. I think I have something in the bag and that I'm on the right track, and then I overhear my son saying he doesn't like that anymore, or he likes something else. Why do teens have to be so fickle? I haven't really started Christmas shopping yet and won't start until the day after Thanksgiving, but I've been plotting what to buy, and I swear his interests change every fifteen minutes. I honestly thought my daughter would be the one giving me the problem, but nope, she's the easy one. So if you have kids and they're not teens yet, I'm just giving you a forecast into your future, you're welcome. But anyway, how is everyone doing? And is everyone looking forward to the holidays? i'm pretty thankful that right now my boys are 9 and 7, so they're still pretty easy to buy for, especially since they both tend to get hyperfixated on one thing, and they stay fixated on that thing for a while. but i have a feeling they're going to be like your teen son when they get older, especially since they take after their father, and when he and i were together, he was the hardest person to buy for as well. i like to believe i'm pretty easy to buy for, so they're not going to get it from me! i'm doing pretty great, though, and i really am looking forward to the holidays. i love getting to celebrate with my boys and seeing the rest of my family back in south africa. what do you do for the holidays?
