I’m still annoyed at the Tom/star breakup. I’m happy they broke up but the reason was so stupid. Tom had a bunch of reasons to break up with Star- neither of us are satisfied in this relationship, you are very clearly attached to Marco, you literally cheated on me, anything. But no, the writers just had to make it about how amazing Star/co is with his reason being “I want a relationship like you and Marco’s, because it’s just so perfect and not at all obsessive and codependent”
Mood, Tom’s reason to break up with Star didn’t make sense to me either

(Related to animation quality post) The animation felt like it went from fully hand drawn to puppet animation at some point? And that might not be the case but it stopped being as squishy and bouncy and started being more uniform and smooth but in a monotonous way. Which is odd because I've seen some good bouncy animation from shows that use puppet animation, but here it really limited it if that was the case
I wouldn’t call it “puppet animation”, but the second studio really made everything seem more... flat and static, I guess.
Superficially it may have looked better at first, but it lacks character and vitality.

i always find it laughable that people expected trans marco to be canon. Not because trans people are a joke, im a trans woman, but like. what they did with Marco was NOT trans positive. what they did with Marco was like; the EPITOME of "hey look its a boy in a dress isnt it funny?" which is DEEPLY rooted in transphobia. it was never gonna happen because they don't have any actual, internal respect for trans people.

When people are tired of being represented almost only by offensive stereotypes and caricatures, any semblance of positive rep makes them excited. I’ve seen many people rally around Princess Marco as an inspiring character for trans girls. And I’m happy for the people who derived joy from watching the Princess Marco episodes, in the end.
I have to confess I was one of those who had a teeny tiny hope of seeing a canon trans girl Marco. But after the Princess Turdina ep, it was clear that would never ever happen.

Giving credit where credit is due... Teen Meteora’s and Mariposa’s character designs are pretty good.
At first I was against a Neverzone episode centered around them. But now I’m glad we saw them grown up!
I have a feeling that a possible show about them (NOT THAT I WANT ONE I’m talking hypothetically here) would be far superior to anything svtfoe ever did.
They have a really good chemistry as friends and sisters! The adventures of a badass half-demon/lost princess + spunky human girl sound pretty cool to me.
