Lena: I still don't forgive you.

Kara: Not you.

Kara: Kate.

Lena: What?

Both of them had been investigating the Multiverse in the database of that charismatic AI called Leonard, searching for possible Earths that could still be saved. For the last frustrating ten minutes Kate and Kara hadn't found any Earth.

The Multiverse was running out of them.

Kara slightly looked up from the screen. "It's okay," she said sincerely, but devoid of emotions.

Kate would almost have preferred she were mad at her. "It's not okay. I saw the look in your eyes. I scared you when you saw me with the Kryptonite. And I prefer to scare criminals, not my friends," she said humbly. "I promise I-"

"It wasn't you, Kate. It was the Kryptonite," said Kara without looking up, obsessively looking at the map. "It not only weakens me. It makes me feel like if my skin were on fire. Over time I developed a small resistance to the pain. But still..." her voice became small, before continuing speaking with renewed forces. Kate couldn't see her face but the pain was evident in her posture. "A few days ago, someone I trusted used it on me. She was hurt because it took me a long time to tell her that I'm Supergirl. So hurt that she wanted to hurt me too. I'm still hopeful that we can fix it somehow but when I close my eyes I only... remember what she did to me."

Kate advanced silently to the blonde, gently putting a hand on her shoulder. She wasn't crying, but she pressed her hands on the edges of the table, without doubt leaving marks on the metal. "Kara, what did she do to you?"

Kara let out a sob. "She covered my whole body with Kryptonite and locked me inside an iceberg." She took a deep breath and rubbed her face. "I can still feel the pain. My skin burning. I wish I could forget it but I can't. You didn't scare me, Kate. I know I can trust you. It's just that when I saw that piece of Kryptonite..."

"That triggered you."

"I guess so." Kara took a deep breath, regaining her composure and taking Kate's hand over her shoulder. "Thank you. I hadn't talked about that with anyone."

Kara's little smile made her want to step forward and... "You know? Beth has hurt me a lot too, but at least she has the excuse of being ten years kidnapped. Your friend sounds like... an asshole."

"Lena is complicated," said Kara, although she no longer sounded as convinced as before. "I need to believe that she can still return to the light. If I don't, if I don't forgive her and try to help her, then I would be losing hope in her. And everyone deserves hope," replied Kara looking her in the eye. Her smile then disappeared. "But if I got to prevent her from hurting other people, then I can't do anything but stop her at all costs."

"Of course." Her name is Lena. "Count on me for whatever you need."

Kara smiled a little and leaned forward, lightly kissing the green-eyed woman's cheek. "Thank you."

Kate smiled back.
