“I take care of my own, that’s something that was instilled in me since childhood. We take care of those we care about, even if that means sacrifice. I will continue to do so in an effort to shield you all from the reality of what goes on if management gets upset. I think Hongjoong enjoys your company, I think you enjoy his as well.”

“I know you do hyung, we all appreciate it and we all try to show how grateful we are for you as much as we can. Makes me wonder how upset management gets since it seems they let us get away with a lot. Of course, I think he’s one of my favorites to spend time with. Helps we work together on songs at times as well, I’ve learned a lot from Hongjoong hyung.”

Hongjoong knew Mingi wouldn’t do as he said, as the boy wanted to stick things out to the end. Once the one song was complete, he exported it in order to send it off to their manager and staff. “You like the beat or do you think there is more I could’ve done to it?” He often stressed himself off when doing this work, as his perfectionist side come out to play.

Mingi listened carefully as he took a pulled up a nearby chair and sat next to the other male. He was used to seeing this side of Hongjoong but he enjoyed watching the older male doing something he loved. It made him wonder if the others ever got to witness this like he did when getting to work on songs alongside the other. “I like it a lot hyung, it sounds really good. I’m sure the others and the fans will enjoy it as well.” He let him know, being honest with his feelings on the other’s piece.

“Well I look after my boys, I don’t want you to get in trouble for silly things. Usually I take a lot of the heat behind the scenes if anything goes wrong. I don’t want you guys to get into any trouble so I make sure they talk to me, let me take the heat. Hongjoong gives into you quite easily, it’s always a hassle with me getting him out of his cave. Yeah that’s true, how about like the movies?”

“We all appreciate it though I’m surprised a few of us haven’t yet. I know Hongjoong hyung has to sometimes make sure we stop when we don’t seem to listen to you. Aww, that’s sweet of you hyung. Wonder why that is besides me being a nuisance whenever I can with him. The movies will be perfect as long as we watch nothing scary otherwise you will hear me screaming the whole time.”

“Ah basically the motherly figure that I hear so often, which makes me happy. I’m just saying it makes me smile to hear such things. Yeah Hongjoong is fun to hang around, just sometimes have to drag him out of the studio. We should all go bowling, see how we do.”

“You fit that well, you always keep us from doing things we aren’t suppose to like when you made us not do piece signs when we took that photo before voting. I know, no wonder we all tend to say kind things to you. True, I tend to or just bother him until he agrees to come with me. We should but I can already feel the competitiveness coming from that.”

Hongjoong wouldn’t object, as it was lonely at times to be the editor. He was pleased though, happy to have Mingi here with him for company. Humming softly, he licked over his bottom lip as he moved around the beat of the song. The boy had an idea, wanting it to go exactly as planned. “Are you sure? I want you to sleep though, okay? Don’t be in here with me as long as I’m editing.” 

Mingi just watched carefully, taking in what the other male was doing. His eyes tracked the way Hongjoong moved and how focused he was while working. Also seeing the way the way he moved around different things on the computer had Mingi even more intrigued. He perked up and focused back on the older male once he heard him start speaking again. “I’m sure hyung. I’ll make sure to leave and get sleep as soon as I’m feeling tired, promise.”

Hongjoong nodded, well aware how much the fans were looking forward to any upcoming albums. It’s one of the many things that kept him going, kept him pushing. He knew that the other boys must’ve been busy if Mingi was down here while he was editing. As he could be quite the nuisance and often downed himself. “Mm, you know I’m going to be down here for awhile, right? You don’t have to stay while I wait in this room and go over the same thing twenty times.”  

Mingi knew that Hongjoong worked hard and stayed in the studio for days at a time even. Their eldest member expressed how he wanted him to come home at times since the two shared a room together. Mingi would sometimes come to join Hongjoong since he liked helping him produce some of their songs. Now though, the taller male wanted someone to spend time with. The others were doing their own things and he didn’t want to bother them so he chose their leader instead. “I don’t mind staying hyung. I like keeping you company even when you are working away at something.”

“I’m just being honest, there are better people to be hanging with. What about Hongjoong? That’s true though, you don’t mess with me the same way. Hm, maybe we could go bowling?”

“I know, but I enjoy being around you hyung. You have a comforting aura to you. I mean, I tend to mess with him and we work on music a lot so I feel I hand out with him a ton actually. Nope, I seek you for comfort usually just like when I came back from hiatus. Bowling sounds great, can’t say how it will all end up but we’ll have a great time together.”

“I don’t know about all that, It would be nice to hang out together for the day though. Hm, either way is fine with me. I’m up for either a night out or a day in, depending on what you’re feeling.”

“You are so modest hyung, I swear. I do enjoy hanging out with you and at least I don’t mess with you like Wooyoung does. Either is fine by me, you know I don’t mind as long as we are both having a good time.”
