i can’t remember who told me this/where i saw it but honestly one of the best pieces of advice re: productivity that i’ve ever heard is simply to just do stuff while waiting to do other stuff. for example, waiting for the kettle to boil? do a quick clean of the kitchen counters while you’re waiting. waiting to jump in the shower? do a quick review session of your memrise vocab until the bathroom frees up. it doesn’t have to be big, but all these small moments add up and you end up getting a lot done per day

봄이다. 사랑하는 사람이 더욱 사랑스러워지는 계절. ig: studylustre
the idea that you need to be talented in something in order to try it is so outdated? learn a language. go skii, go swim. play the piano! sing! dance! run! draw!
have you ever looked at a hobby and gone, “wow, I wish I could do that?”
guess what! you can! talent and natural competency is real, but so is hard work and passion!

“My mother boils seawater. It sits all afternoon simmering on the stovetop, almost two gallons in a big soup pot. The windows steam up and the house smells like a storm. In the evening, a crust of salt is all that’s left at the bottom of the pot. My mother scrapes it out with a spoon. We each lick a fingertip and dip them in the salt and it’s softer than you’d think, less like sand and more like snow. We lay our fingertips on our tongues, right in the middle. It tastes like salt but like something else, too—wide, and dark. It tastes like drowning, or like falling asleep on the shore and only waking up when the tide has come up to your feet and you wonder if you’d gone on sleeping, would you have sunk?”

Wow, this is a powerful piece. I have also boiled seawater to collect salt and it is quite like the experience described.
