casual intimacy kills me every time. grand gestures are cute and all but seeing two people who are just totally comfortable with having each other in their space, who dont think twice about leaning into each other and thoughtlessly holding each other while doing unrelated things….. thats love

i imagine the people i love as lights, and if i looked at a map i’d see the glowing, no matter the distance between me and them. the world feels kinder that way. a little softer. less like it’s trying to hurt you. someone somewhere feels something when they hear your name. love is everywhere around us even when we don’t know it. i promise. when someone you love ends up far way from you, the love they have for you is brightening up wherever they are in the world. and somewhere deep down, you feel it. even miles away. even time zones away.

why does this communicate the universal mood we women experience so perfectly

This is doubly annoying because she’s clearly in mourning; look at her clothes. those are mourning clothes. The way she clutches her handkerchief. The wetness of her eyes. She’s not a lark to the seaside, she’s traveling to or from a funeral. And this dandy fuckboy can’t look beyond his own nose and have some fucking respect.

This is why I support artists.  You can tell a story without any words at all.  You don’t even need to title this piece “The Irritating Gentleman” and yet most 21st Century women will know exactly what this 19th Century woman endured on the day of that painting.

And look how she is dressed. Not a piece of skin exposed. So dont tell me its our miniskirts that makes men do this!
