โMy question exactly,โ he responds, eyes still blinking at the black-ink ballpoint pen in his hand. โWhat is this thing?โ

โIt just likeโฆ never runs out of ink?โ Heโs still staring at the thing like heโs a muggle staring at a wand.ย

โNah,โ he quickly replies, handing you your pen back across the library table. โI learn enough from my favorite muggleborn,โ he says, and you smile abashedly. With this he stands, offering you a very Renjun smile before disappearing into the library aisles and leaving you to finish your essay.ย
The second time Renjun steals your pen from you, youโre in a very similar situation. Homework before you, pen in hand before the blonde haired Ravenclaw takes it from you.ย
The difference this time is that he asks for it first. โY/N, can I borrow your pen, please?โ This causes you to raise a curious brow at him because, Huang Renjun saying please? Sure.
Silently you pass it over to him and watch as he rips a piece of your parchment, to which you yell โHey!โ He offers no response, simply clicking the pen as if it were second nature. Even you couldnโt tell it was his first time using a pen. For second, heโs scribbling into the paper with furrowed brows while you watch with heightened interest.
You think heโs done but he continues to stare at the completed writing as though it were written in a foreign language. You canโt see it, but thatโs what you deduce. โHere,โ he finally says after a moment. But rather than passing you your pen back, Renjun slides the sliver of parchment across the table.ย
Heโs clearly inept with a pen, for heโs pressed so hard that the ink has bled through to the other side in sizable splotches, but the words heโs written catch your eye. On the paper, in dried black ink, reads: โY/N, will you go out with me?โย
