Staff: I was surprised to see you appear with bright red hair on the day you performed for Lunatic Fest.

Imai: Lately, I was thinking about not dyeing it, and the thought just came to me.

S: That day?

I: Not at that time. (laughs) I was going to be wearing red clothing with gloomy eyes for the Vogue interview, so yeah, I decided to do my hair the same way.

S: It was awesome because the red really stood out on stage. You’ve pretty much dyed your hair every color there is by now, right?

I: If we’re talking about my teen years, I did every color back then.

S: E-Every color? (laughs)

I: I think I wanted to see whether or not I could do it and changed it every week.

S: It must have been troublesome with work, though.

I: Well, during that time, it was okay. To apply that kind of effort to yourself during your teen years doesn’t feel all that troublesome.

S: So you’ve had to spend all that time, about two hours’ worth each visit, sitting in a salon?
