Sailor Update: the swelling under his chin is slowly receding and though his ear is tattered from “that dog “ taking a bite from it, that wound is healing, too. He has finished his painkillers, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory pills and is becoming a little more like his irascible self every day, and I’m grateful for that. I believe it’s taken me longer to work through the trauma than it has Sailor. I’ve been pretty sick this past week so that hasn’t helped. Hopefully Sailor will have his stitches removed in a few more days. Poor sweet Sailor was attacked by another do Tuesday night. We headed straight for the Animal Emergency and Trauma Center here in Wilmington. He had half of his left ear bitten off, a deep puncture wound in his neck requiring several stitches, and smaller puncture wounds on his abdomen. Big thanks to Dr. Alicia Burkett for treating him so well.
