Getting ready for work. I'm hoping to be home around 3ish today, and plan to get my drafts out then. Sorry this has taken so long.

I've got to straighten up the living room for my date pick-up on Saturday. Bathroom and living room need to look decent. lol.

Other than knitting, that's pretty much my schedule for this evening. Tomorrow, I'm going on a First Date to my favorite spot in the city (we were supposed to have our FD a few weeks ago, but plans fell through), Missouri Botanical Garden. Eat lunch there, and just have a relaxing day, I hope. Wish me luck?

If he’s being truthful, she was dominant to him even before he bit her. More subtly, but she was. He courted her, in his own way, and he’s always given into her more than any other person he’s known; even Jeremy and Nick. He doesn’t know how to tell her no, unless it comes to her safety and what he thinks will keep her whole. Though, truthfully, he doesn’t mind her being in charge, he could see her as a good alpha one of these days. Her in charge sends a shiver down his spine, he enjoys her firm hand in some situations. But first they need to squash this uprising and come out whole.

There’s no arguing with her, no trying to pacify her that he’s fine. He may try to not show the pain, but he doesn’t lie to her. “I wish we had a little more time, but they won’t let me take the time to heal a hundred percent.” Not if they’re smart anyway. And while most haven’t been too smart, Santos and Marsten both have semi-decent brain function and will work that much out. Plus there’s the question of the greater picture behind them. Catching her when she’s close enough, he’ll pull her to him gently so he can kiss her. “I trust you, Elena, you know that. And I’ll have your back. Being with you like this helps already though.”

They have always complimented each other well. That's why they've made such a good team in the past, and now, with an even more united front, there's nothing that can stop them. They've always been in charge of handling the Mutts, and in a way, Elena is keenly aware that this uprising is a direct result of her not being there. Of them not keeping better track of their movements and alliances. Not that they'd ever really had alliances before. But after this, they can really start to pick up where they left off, relationship wise.

"They want you not at your best," she agrees. Really, if he were anyone else, he'd have died. But he's Clay, and he's strong. She's glad he fought. Glad he fought for them. "But this will help sooth those sore muscles at the very least." She kisses him back, fingers trailing against his cheeks. "I need you to be focused today. Will you promise me you'll let me fight, and you focus on whomever you need to kill? I've got your back. I need you to focus on protecting your front."

Look, I'm not going to sit here and try to remember when I first read Armstrong's Bitten. And when I first decided I liked Elena. You know why? Because it doesn't fucking matter what The Rock is cookin'.

This is about fun. Not about who's liked what longer. What is this, a contest? Or are we trying to out-hipster each other by saying we liked it before it was cool?
