Customer: Can I get the extension for [whatever department]?

I understand the end user getting confused, but why do technicians refer to the wrong ticket ALL THE TIME???

I was asked to look at a ticket that was closed, nothing abnormal there. And I was given ZERO explanation why I was asked to look i to it.

What they actually meant is that they had a question about a related ticket.

Me: what did you do this (regular) weekend?

Boss: I saw [this movie] and it was pretty good. what about you?

Me: plays sound from the end of the movie with really catchy tune and that basically repeats the name of the movie over and over.

Relative calls and says we are having an event tomorrow, at x time. And that 2 hours prior they will be elsewhere.
