she nods, as if it’s gospel. though she reminds herself that not everything people say was meant LITERALLY, especially argyle. but these facts seem innocent enough, easy to be believed. she wonders if there are other strange combinations and remembers briefly reading a pizza menu once. “ ham ? ” she’s not ignorant to what ham was, but that ingredient paired with the juicy flesh of a pineapple was what surprised her. taking another piece of the pineapple, she pops it into her mouth and tries to imagine what it would be like against the ham, salty, maybe slightly crispy.
“ i don’t know. ” she says once swallowing the piece. but it’s a good question – the TWO TIMES she had been to a store weren’t necessarily enlightening. ( once to secure some eggos, the other in dire need of first aid – the scar on her leg the result. ) “ but in-dee-anna is not tropical at all. it is … dark, cold. ”
